Spanish Update

I have a Spanish update.  And no I am not talking about that the Spanish soccer player Torres, who has switched teams.  In case some of you are wondering, he is now playing for Chelsea and will face his old team Liverpool this Sunday.  For soccer fans this is news, however this isn’t the news I wanted to update you on.

For the past couple of weeks I’ve been proactive with my Spanish lessons and I have to admit that I am really enjoying them.  It is nice to use my brain again.  It has been so long since I’ve tried to learn something.  Most of the time, my brain is on autopilot.  Get up, go to work, come home, cook dinner, do dishes, get ready for the next day, relax a little, go to bed and start the whole process over the next day.  But the lessons are stimulating my brain.  I can feel it working and learning.  It is such a good feeling to break out of the monotony and dust off the cobwebs.  And hopefully the lessons will stick and I won’t be so helpless the next time I am in a Spanish speaking area or country.
