Signs of age

Once we left Greenville, Delaware we headed to Atlantic City.  The next day we had a wedding in Ocean City, New Jersey so we thought it would be fun to stop off in AC for the night.  However, after driving all night on Friday and then stopping at a few places during the day on Saturday we were a little tired.  We mustered up some energy and took a cab from our hotel to Trump Plaza.

Inside we found the usual things you find in a casino: flashy interior, slot machines, poker tables, bars, and singers.

We sat down in a bar and listened to some singers for a little.   The waitress took our order and I requested a mixed drink with champagne.  I received a Bloody Mary.  Oh well.  It was happy hour and two drinks only cost 8 bucks.  And I hate complaining to a woman who looked like she was having a rough night.  I have a desk job.  I can’t imagine being on my feet all day and dealing with drunks.  There were quite a few.

After our drinks we headed outside to the Boardwalk.

Then we went into another casino in search of a place to eat.

All I could find was a seafood buffet.  I didn’t want to pay $25 for the buffet since I only wanted a little something to eat.  It was almost midnight.  I need to plan more to hit the buffet.  Train so I can eat a whole bunch and not embarrass myself at the buffet.  We stumbled upon Johnny Rockets and I ordered a grilled cheese and chocolate malt.  This is a great late night snack.   Then we caught a cab and headed back to the hotel.

We had a wedding the next day and I am getting too old to stay out all night drinking and gambling.  It’s disappointing.  But I’m ok with it.

A grilled cheese and chocolate malt? I never thought of having the two together, but now that you mention it I can almost taste it. I’m going to have to have that as a snack sometime soon.

Oh it is delightful. But I love chocolate malts and can add it to almost any meal.

You’re “getting too old to stay out all night drinking and gambling.” Oh, so this what young people are supposed to do? 😛
