Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
Grab your current read
Open to a random page
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser!
Here is mine:
“She threw herself on her knees, and raising up her hands, cried the same words in tones which wrung my heart. Then she tore her hair and beat her breast, and abandoned herself to all the violences of extravagant emotion.”
pg. 62, Dracula by Bram Stoker
Nice Teaser! I am so bad, I have never read Dracula…lol
I’m really enjoying it. It is a scary read though. I’ve been extra jumpy!
“I wasn’t really afraid of the waves, but I thought for sure I’d get sucked under the boat and cut into pieces by the propellor. When I was younger, I’d seen a friend get his arm severed by a boat’s motor, so maybe that’s why I was more worried about that than drowning”. p67 “Ten Hours Until Dawn”.
Ouch! Good teaser!
Excellent book – love the teaser.
Thanks! I’m surprised by how good the book is and that I haven’t read it yet.

Thanks! You too!
Wow… “violences of extravagant emotion.” What a great teaser. I feel like I’m doing that right now with the book I’m reading. Lol. What a cool Idea, this teaser Tuesday…. And I never knew Dracula was a scary read.
I’m finding that Dracula can be an intense read. What book are you reading? I just stumbled upon teaser Tuesdays. It’s a fun a idea. You should join in!
Can’t beat the classics!
Here’s my Teaser
Love, love, love Dracula! It is one of the scariest books I have ever read. It does make one jumpy though. I still get scared (for I have re-read it three times now) when Lucy and her mother’s final fate is revealed and when Mina begins to grow paler and more tired without any apparent reason!
It is making me jumpy. I’ve had to laugh at myself on a few occasions since I will jump at a noise and think there’s a vampire hunting me 🙂
Oh I forgot to add a Spoiler sign to my comment! Sorry!
🙂
Is this an abridged version? I only ask as this is definitely not the scene on page 62 of my book–Jonathan Harker is still in Transylvania at this point in my copy and we’ve not met anyone else save the count. I am much enjoying the full-length version.
Hi Heather. It isn’t the abridged version. The publisher is Puffin Books. That’s too bad that the quotes aren’t on your page 62. Where are you at exactly?
