Travel Photo of the Day (Nov. 30)

Earlier this week, Nandini requested to see some photos of trees against blue skies in Africa.  Here is a photo of the watering hole at Elephant Valley Lodge in Chobe, Botswana.

What a pleasant surprise to wakeup to a photo of the Elephant Valley Lodge – I was photographing from the same hide in 2005 and this is a link to a baby elephant in the waterhole – http://passingtime.photomerchant.net/galleries/travel—africa/ui/18710866744ab04d9e9c385. Plenty of other wildlife shots in the same gallery. Africa is a big continent with so many places to visit and photograph that it is such a coincidence to see us having photographed from the same vantage point. When were you there?

    • TBM says:

I loved your photo. Thanks for sharing. I was at the lodge in June of 2010 and I loved it there. I wonder if I saw the baby elephant you saw when I was there as an adult. This was our first trip to Africa and we only went to three countries. We want to go back and see more of this beautiful continent. Thanks again for sharing your photos.

Sort of depressing – for some reason – but very cool!

That is so gorgeous.. I could stare at it for a long time and think up stories about the scenery:)

When I was there I stared at it for hours. I spent a lot of time in Africa watching and daydreaming. I would love to read some of your stories.

I am so glad too dear Nandini asked for this… Tree photographs are always fascinating me, as yours, dear TBM. The blue sky and trees… How amazingly rising there… Thank you, with my love, nia

Are those vultures sitting in the tree?
