The view of Barcelona from the top of our hotel. Β I was amazed by how the buildings are packed in.

Barcelona was my first travel abroad experience. I tagged along with my dad on a business trip when I was 15. It’s also where I was mugged for the first (and only) time! Just outside of the olympic stadium. Other than that, good times!
Great shot!
I did see the Olympic stadium. Great views up there. So sorry to hear about the mugging! And glad to know that was the only time, and I hope the very last time for you. Barcelona is one of my favorite places and it is at the top of the places I would love to retire in. What a great experience for a 15 year-old (the city, not the mugging).
Are you there now or is this a “holiday memory”? Love Barcelona – city and beach together (like Malaga)!
I visited Barcelona in 2009 and had a fantastic time. It was a spur of a moment trip and I didn’t know much about the town. Let’s just say I fell in love with the place and want to go back. I’ll have to add Malaga to the list!
ItΒ΄s a great city – and lots of cheap flights from London!
I’ll keep an eye out for a flight!
wow what a terrific photo!
Thanks Kate!
Awww Barcelona! I miss it, the worst thing what ever happened to me was loosing all my pictures π¦ I went to Valencia and Barcelona last October and had an amazing time but came back home with my broken memory card in my camera and I have no idea what happened π¦ it was heartbreaking, but slowly getting over it π The city looks packed in your picture π Thanks for sharing the picture and bringing some nice memories back π
Kristina I am so sorry to hear about your memory card. That would be devastating. Barcelona is a magical place with so much to see. I hope you can visit it again someday and recapture those memories.
You should see here too π This is amazing deaar TBM, Thank you, with my love, nia
I would love to see your home town Nia. Hopefully someday!
I would like to spend a few days there, but I would never move to live in such a huge city π
There is so much to see and do in Barcelona. I’m really starting to like big city life. Having lived in Boston and now London I don’t remember much about wide open spaces.
Took a holiday in Barcelona many years ago and had a great time. Something for everyone.
It is a wonderful place and I agree, there is something for everyone to do, to see, and to enjoy.
Lovely sense of depth and engagement, really love it.
Thanks Nigel. It is a great place to visit!
I would like to visit there someday!
I hope you do!
Major claustrophobia going on there… at least for me.
It can be overwhelming at times that’s for sure. But so many beautiful things to see that it is worth it!
Those structures are pretty jammed in, aren’t they?
They are. It was my first European experience and I’m curious if other cities in Europe are the same way.
We were in Barcelona Sept. 2009! Barca was beautiful, be we were kind of partial to Madrid. Thanks for the memory. π
I still haven’t been to Madrid, but I hope to. Spain is such a lovely place!
So many houses!!! hehehe just like Jakarta
Is it? I’ll have to visit and compare them!
