While on my walk this afternoon with my dog I spotted this delightful tree with cute yellow flowers. Does anyone know the name of this tree? It is such a cheerful creature.

I don’t know, but it surely is pretty, as you say
Thanks Robert!
It’s a Yellow Mimosa
Thanks Martina! It is so lovely!
Detective Cindy at your service!! I googled it and found that it is called Acacia Dealbata (common names: mimosa or silver wattle). Man I love Google!!
Dude you are totally awesome! I took the lazy route and here you are sleuthing away for me. Thanks! I wish I could have one on my deck, but I saw that they can get to be 30 m tall and 10 m wide. Such a delightful tree.
Awww, it was nothing! 🙂 However, I must say I am confused. I thought you got a snowstorm there, but you said you took this picture today? Did your snow melt already?
There are remnants of some snowmen in the garden across the street, but other than that, the snow is all gone. It didn’t last long at all. Which is a good thing…leftover snow gets so gross.
That’s probably one of my favourite trees. It’s a mimosa, indeed. The flowers smell lovely and the leaves fold when you touch them. In German you say to someone who is touchy he or she is a mimosa.
I think it will be one of my favorites here. So pretty. I’ll have to touch the leaves to see them fold. Thanks for the tidbit about referring to someone as a mimosa! I love learning those things.
The pink Mimosa does it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mimosa_pudica
Ooooo…I’ll have to look for the pink version. Thanks!
A Yellow Mimosa.. I have to remember this beautiful tree 🙂
I’m glad so many people were able to identify it. When I own a house with a yard some day I want to have this so I can look at it all of the time.
So pretty. And I love the spark of yellow. Today’s so grey here.
We actually had a sunny, but chilly day. I like that, “spark of yellow.” It looks like little yellow fireworks.
Looks like it could be a tree in the new Dr. Seuss animated film coming out, Lomax.
Oh I didn’t know that there was a new Dr. Seuss film coming out. How exciting! I haven’t been to the movies much lately so I miss all of the previews. It doesn’t come out here in the UK until July.
Very pretty. I have not seen this before, but now I know.
I’m glad I found this beautiful creation!
Lovely! I have never heard of a mimosa tree before !
Am glad I met it. So pretty and it cheered me up on a frigid afternoon walk with my dog.
They are beautiful but can be a little tender, surprised its this early 🙂
I’m glad the snow didn’t ruin it. I really wasn’t expecting to see any flowers blooming in February.
Beautiful so beautiful, and they should smell so nice too… Thank you dear TBM, with my love, nia
Thanks Nia! I love finding things like this…they make me happy.
Such a pretty plant, a little bit of sunshine in London 🙂
It brighten my day!
I don’t know the name either, but it does look beautiful
I learned that it is a mimosa. And some have pink flowers. I’m on the lookout for a pink one now!
Those yellow flowers are bursts of sunshine. Love them.
They really made me smile during my cold, winter walk.
