Travel Photo of the Day (March 17)

I can sit on a beach for hours and do nothing but stare.  The waves, the clouds, and the boats were mesmerizing.  I had a book with me, but I think I only read a few pages.   I couldn’t stop taking it all in.  This photo was taken in the Dominican Republic.

I think I spent about 6 hours at a beach in Mexico, just staring the whole time. Nice to know a fellow sea gazer. Beautiful image with relaxing shades. I could use some more beach gazing time.

I was just saying that the other day. I love my vacations when I get to see a lot, but I’m needing a few days on the beach to do nothing but stare and take it in. I hope we both get our wish.

Gives me a feeling of peace. 🙂

  3. I absolutely love, love this shot. I’m the same way when it comes to sitting/walking on the beach. I live close to the Atlantic and thank my lucky starts everyday that if the mood strikes I can get in the car and sit for a spell. It soothes the soul!!!!

  4. Fergiemoto says:

ahhhhh…..looks so peaceful. I can smell the ocean air and hear the whispers of the waves! Lovely!

Beautiful beach…but I am a bit different, I enjoy mountain more than beach.

Ah that’s what I would do too! I take books on train journeys but then get spell bound by the view 🙂

The perfect place to sit and stare.

Oh, look at the color of that water! It’s so inviting. I’ve never been to the DR, but I’ve heard so many good things about visiting.

I love that kind of beach moment too! I had that experience in Kata Beach, Phuket :p

  12. IsobelandCat says:

This is such a good picture, with triangles in both sky and sea, the rough spume of the sea echoed in the clouds, and the way you lead the eye across and out of the picture.
    Fab!

  13. T.F.Walsh says:

With a view like that, I don’t blame you.

  14. kahyehm says:

    That makes two of us!

  17. Mona says:

I love the juxtaposition of peace and power in this shot. And yes, I too, relish sitting on the beach, letting all of my senses be filled with the magnificence.

  18. We are the same in most respects about just switching off everything while on the beach. I do miss the sea.
