I took this picture as I was walking across the Harvard Bridge spanning the Charles River in Boston. I was surprise to see such dark clouds (or was it smoke) hanging over the buildings on such a sunny day.
I wasn’t the only one who noticed. This tourist also took a second look.

Wow, it looks like the city is being enveloped in black smoke! Great shot!
Thanks Fergiemoto!
These white sails are great in these photographs, fascinated me. Thank you dear TBM, with my love, nia
Glad you liked them Nia!
That’s really a bit creepy – would like to know what it is though. Need answers! LOL 😀
I never figured it out…but it was strange and I felt like I was in a movie about the end of the world.
The smoke monster has left the island…great pic!
It does look like a monster.
Very cool, must be the city pollution 😀
That is a sad thought.
Hi there TBM, i just booked my hotel for Boston last night. This time I’m traveling with my family. Looking forward to seeing the sights such as this one.
I hope the skies are a little prettier for you. I’m excited to hear all about your trip!
Sailboats!! Yayyyyyy! 🙂
I love boats!
As always, no words! ❤
🙂
It is unusual, did you find out if it was smoke?
I never did figure it out.
Love the contrast of the green park with the concrete jungle!!! 🙂 **
When I first arrived in Boston, I was amazed by all the trees. Of course once you get outside the city there are much more.
What was the explanation?
Unfortunately I never knew. I don’t remember it raining that day and I didn’t see anything in the news.
Amazing shot, it does’t look like cloud 🙂 Anyway, still the Boston has its beauty because of Charles River 🙂
I do love the river…I’ve always been drawn to water.
I have lived on the northshore of Boston, I still miss it the city and the great nature that surrounds it.
Boston is a fun place to live. So much to do and to see. I miss it as well.
How strange! Reminds me of the marine layer in California. Great shots.
That is a good comparison!
Was there an eerie silence? 😉 The 2nd picture reminds me of the time the twin towers collapsed and the dust billowed over the city of NY…
Oh goodness that is a scary memory. No there wasn’t any eerie silence, but I don’t remember any silence in Boston. The drivers there love to honk and to yell 🙂
Ow wow!! it could be a great story coming from that photo.
I bet some could conjure up a decent horror story.
What a great life you’re living my friend! Great shots! I can smell the sea air…. almost!
🙂 I do miss the sea air!
That looks a lot like that black smoke that tried to take over the island in Lost. 🙂
I never watched that show. I should add it to my movie list. Thanks for the reminder.
Great shot!!! It looks like the city is being enveloped in black smoke!
It was spooky to see. Thanks!
