I wonder what she is thinking. I love this photo since the lion looks like she is contemplating life. I have sat by many rivers in my life to have time to think. This photo was taken in Zambia.

I think she’s wondering why that strange shaped piece of wood appears to be approaching her through the water – perhaps you should hold a caption competition for this one!
Lynn 😀
That is a good idea Lynn!
She looks fascinated by that tree (stump?) in the river.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Could be!
I don’t think I’ve sat down near rivers as often as I would wish. I love this photo for precisely that reason – reminds me of things I have yet to enjoy.
I hope you’ll have many rivers in your future.
Wonder if she sees something in the water. Another beautiful picture.
Thanks Susi!
Great photo!
Thanks Robyn!
I guess animals have their contemplating time too.
Seems like it. I like that about them.
I hope I can see those beautiful animals in their natural habitat as well one day …
I hope you do!
Awesome capture!
Thanks Madhu!
Rivers are so tranquil. I live near a river and it is wonderful to walk along it and look at the water flowing.
I find them hypnotic. Such a great place to be.
Thinking lion… Hit me and also made me smile too… Thank you dear TBM, your experiences are always amazing and interesting… with my love, nia
Thanks Nia…I always wonder what animals are thinking about.
Personally, I think she is contemplating the gazelle on the other side of the river!! LOL
That would be good since they were teaching her to hunt.
I too wonder what he wonders…
It would be amazing to know.
She looks young. It is a lovely photo.
At the time she was under a year.
I’m sure she just enjoys being there, next to the river, because it calms her and eases any stress she might be feeling… I love water, exactly because of those qualities. 🙂
You may be right…they relax me.
I think she s fascinated by the tree 😀
Maybe she wants to get to the tree.
I wonder the same think too…maybe she was thinking about swimming 😉
I’ve heard that lions can swim when they have to.
Awesome shot! She appears to be intrigued by the tree stump.
I can see that. Thanks!
He looks pretty focussed….
Yes!
