Weekly Photo Challenge: Sun

This week’s photo challenge features the sun and how it can transform a photograph.   Here is a photo that I took in Zambia.  Since I was in Africa I wasn’t looking at the photos I took to save battery life.  I was out in the bush for two weeks and didn’t have a lot of opportunities to charge batteries and checking a digital camera to see if a picture turns out uses up the battery.   Hence I ended up with a lot of blurry photos.  And now this one has a purpose.

Just wondering – was it one huge Africa trip or many small..? It’s on my todo list for the 2020’s I think… 🙂

    • TBM says:

We spent three weeks there and visited Zambia, Botswana, and South Africa. In South Africa we attended two World Cup matches. I can’t wait to go back. I would love to go for months at a time, but due to work and such we can only take off for 2-3 weeks. Where are you planning on going?

  2. Robin says:

Yes, the African sun can blow out photos terribly. Pleased you found a use for it.

  3. frizztext says:

oh the small elephant – more amusing than the sunlight …

Baby elephants have got to be the cutest thing ever! I would have one – but then look what happens. They grow up – and an elephant is not just for Christmas.
    I enjoyed your picture. Thanks
Meant to ask – is your banner along the top a photo you did??
    Lynn 😀

    Lynn:D

    • TBM says:

Hi Lynn…yep the banner photo is from my collection. It was an amazing experience. This photo was taken during a pit stop on a safari at sunset. We were having snacks and wine watching this incredible sunset.

I took the photo of the baby in 2010. I wonder how big he is now.

  14. Gilly Gee says:
