Weekly Photo Challenge: Unfocused

Both of the photos below were taken on the same evening.  The first, I tried to snap a photo of a cute car as it whizzed by.  As you can see, it is hard to make out and the car disappeared before I could get another shot.

The second was taken on Kensington High Street and I loved the color of the sky.  However, it came out blurry and we were in a rush so I didn’t have time to mess with my camera settings.

  1. I love the way the sky looks. Ah, sunsets… they are beautiful anywhere. 🙂

  2. Robin says:

I checked my glasses to see if they were working right… The top picture makes me try to imagine what it would look like in focus!

  3. Carol says:

Although I’m sure it was unintended, the out-of-focus on the second picture adds something, I think.

  4. That is indeed a cute car 😛

  5. Madhu says:

I like the second one too! There is a sense of anticipation!

  6. lynnsbooks says:

I prefer the second picture as it is, out of focus, it’s almost like a shot out of a movie or something. It seems to add to the atmosphere. If you hadn’t told me I would have thought you intended the picture to look like that!
    Lynn 😀

  7. Gilly Gee says:

I like both but the dusk shot is great, i really enjoy that time of day 🙂

Great shots! The first photo is out of focus enough to make it amusing, yet in focus enough to see it’s a cute car…and crowded.

  13. Novroz says:

I like that unfocused car better. It is so hard to get a good shot of moving objects.

  14. Perfect shots for the topic – and that sky is amazing!

  15. Alicia K says:

    They both look great!

The purple sky has caught my eye. Still so much beauty despite the hazy nature of the photographs. 🙂

  19. And just that glimpse of a taxi makes me feel nostalgic 😦

  20. Gobetween says:

perfect for the challenge, I like the colours and the effect of the sky in the second one.

  22. Jo Bryant says:

I like the second on as it is – the out of focus adds to it

  23. These are perfect shots for this photo challenge, TBM. In my opinion, the “cute car” gets the challenge prize!

    both really interesting, thank you!

  25. zelmare says:

I think I quite like the out-of-focusness (Uhm, had to make my own word to get across what I want to say) of the second picture. 🙂

  26. nice entry! That sky is amazing, with and without the blurriness of the picture 🙂

  27. pattisj says:

You definitely captured the movement in the first one, and the sky is gorgeous in the second.
