Blue and Travel Photo of the Day (May 15)

Since WordPress finally posted the theme for this week’s photo challenge I am combining my daily travel photo and the theme, which is blue.

As I sat by the pool in Guatemala

I watched this volcano smoke

And then I enjoyed this magnificent cocktail

I want one of those blue drinks. Nice photos.

    • TBM says:

Thanks…the drink was delicious. I could go for one now since the sun has reappeared in London. It seems like such a summer drink.

  2. fgassette says:

I like the blue reflection, the blue smoky volcano and especially the blue cocktail. It makes me thirsty for something to drink. Good selections for challenge.

  3. niasunset says:

WOW! They are so beautiful but reflections fascinated me. Thank you dear TBM, with my love, nia

  4. jmgoyder says:

What kind of cocktail is that?!

  5. All wonderful hots for the challenge! I especially like the volcano!

  6. A perfectly blue day!

  7. orples says:

I’d like to dive right into that beautiful pool of water. It looks so, so inviting. πŸ™‚

  8. zelmare says:

Aaaahh… You are so lucky to have experienced all of that, in one location. Love blue, love your pics. That first one is delightful.

    • TBM says:

I say this about most of my trips, but Guatemala was a wonderful place to visit. The people, culture, history, nature…all of it was fantastic.

  9. Gilly Gee says:

Yes tell, what is the cocktail? great blues πŸ™‚

    • TBM says:

Hi Gilly they called the cocktail Magico. I had the recipe but somehow in the move I misplaced it, which is a shame since I loved making it during the summer. I will keep looking for it. I won’t give up!

  10. Fergiemoto says:

Great BLUE shots! I like the reflection in the first photo. There is a cocktail I had in Hawaii that is blue. I don’t remember the name – probably ‘blue lagoon’ or something like that. What is the cocktail you had?

    • TBM says:

They called this cocktail the Magico. The “blue lagoon” sounds pretty tasty as well. Now I am daydreaming about flying to Hawaii to search for it πŸ™‚

  11. Northern Narratives says:

The volcano smoke is my favorite.

  12. thirdeyemom says:

    I must be on Antigua!!

  13. Beth Ann says:

All of the pictures are WONDERFUL! The drink one looks fabulous! Did it taste as good as it looked?

  14. Geoff W says:

Looks like a Blue Motorcycle (drink) I was obsessed with in undergrad. It wasn’t even that great – I just liked the vibrancy of it.

    • TBM says:

I must seek out the Blue Motorcycle…I like vibrant drinks and I might be able to ignore that it isn’t the tastiest of cocktails. But it would be cool to say, I once drank a Blue Motorcycle.

  15. pattisj says:

Nice variety of blues you have here!

  16. scrapydo says:

Awesome blue photos. It sometimes helps to wait for the subject!

  17. Jo Bryant says:

Oh what a difficult life you lead…so jealous

  18. Colline says:

Perfect pictures for this week’s challenge. There is no need to guess at the theme πŸ™‚

  19. The pool looks so inviting. It makes me want to jump right in. Especially, after the hot walk I just had with the dogs.

  23. ailsapm says:

A pool, a cocktail and a smoking volcano, does life get any better? Great entry πŸ™‚ Ailsa

  24. I would love to visit Guatemala someday!!! This is a very appealing blue post!!! What a view of the volcano – and a very yummy-looking cocktail!!! -oh my… it’s way to early in the morning to be liking the look of that cocktail… πŸ˜‰ Hahaha!!! πŸ˜€ **

    The reflection was soo clear

Great “blue” post! Beautiful vibrant colors!

  29. Caroline says:

    These are really wonderful.

  30. Carol says:

All such beautiful blues. I love the volcano photo.

  31. Malou says:

The cocktail looks quite lethal in blue but if you are drinking it, I can join you in it. πŸ˜‰

    • TBM says:

If I didn’t know that it was a friendly drink I wouldn’t have touched it. The bartenders at the place where we stayed were wonderful and I trusted them. It was pretty tasty.

  32. 8teen39 says:

How stupid of me. I have a general rule not to eat (or drink) any color that is not found in nature. What was I thinking? I have given up imbibing some delicious looking blue drinks because I never thought of sky or water. Really! How many photos have I taken of the ocean? A lake? A stream? A sky? I’m going to have to get me a whole new set of rules. And learn to be a bit more observant of life- and colors- around me. Think of all the new experiences just waiting for me now. Oh, and I loved your photos!

    • TBM says:

Thanks! And I’m excited for you and this whole new world. I hope many blue cocktails are in your future πŸ™‚ Just not all at once.

  33. Beautiful blues – and all so different!

  34. The blue drink looks very worrying, more so even that smoke issuing from a volcano.

  35. Now THAT’S a drink!
