Since WordPress finally posted the theme for this week’s photo challenge I am combining my daily travel photo and the theme, which is blue.
As I sat by the pool in Guatemala

I watched this volcano smoke

And then I enjoyed this magnificent cocktail

I want one of those blue drinks. Nice photos.
Thanks…the drink was delicious. I could go for one now since the sun has reappeared in London. It seems like such a summer drink.
I like the blue reflection, the blue smoky volcano and especially the blue cocktail. It makes me thirsty for something to drink. Good selections for challenge.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Thanks Francine and thanks for the tip of combining two posts.
WOW! They are so beautiful but reflections fascinated me. Thank you dear TBM, with my love, nia
The reflections intrigued me as well and I took many photos. Thanks Nia.
What kind of cocktail is that?!
They called it the Magico and it did work its magic on me.
Okay – magico! I will look for it!
All wonderful hots for the challenge! I especially like the volcano!
It was really fun to sit and watch the volcano smoke. Nature amazes me.
A perfectly blue day!
And not in a sad way 🙂
Right! 😉
I’d like to dive right into that beautiful pool of water. It looks so, so inviting. 🙂
The pool was nice and there was also a hot tub I enjoyed in the evening.
Aaaahh… You are so lucky to have experienced all of that, in one location. Love blue, love your pics. That first one is delightful.
I say this about most of my trips, but Guatemala was a wonderful place to visit. The people, culture, history, nature…all of it was fantastic.
Yes tell, what is the cocktail? great blues 🙂
Hi Gilly they called the cocktail Magico. I had the recipe but somehow in the move I misplaced it, which is a shame since I loved making it during the summer. I will keep looking for it. I won’t give up!
Great BLUE shots! I like the reflection in the first photo. There is a cocktail I had in Hawaii that is blue. I don’t remember the name – probably ‘blue lagoon’ or something like that. What is the cocktail you had?
They called this cocktail the Magico. The “blue lagoon” sounds pretty tasty as well. Now I am daydreaming about flying to Hawaii to search for it 🙂
The volcano smoke is my favorite.
It was so cool…I loved it and it was my first experience witnessing a smoking volcano.
I must be on Antigua!!
Yes!
All of the pictures are WONDERFUL! The drink one looks fabulous! Did it taste as good as it looked?
It sure did! I think I had more than one, but I won’t tell the actual number 🙂
🙂
Looks like a Blue Motorcycle (drink) I was obsessed with in undergrad. It wasn’t even that great – I just liked the vibrancy of it.
I must seek out the Blue Motorcycle…I like vibrant drinks and I might be able to ignore that it isn’t the tastiest of cocktails. But it would be cool to say, I once drank a Blue Motorcycle.
Haaahaa you should! From what I remember it was very tropical, coconut and run of some sort.
Rum and coconut…two of my favorite ingredients in a cocktail.
Nice variety of blues you have here!
Thank you!
Awesome blue photos. It sometimes helps to wait for the subject!
It all worked out in the end.
Oh what a difficult life you lead…so jealous
Blue drinks make life interesting that’s for sure 🙂
Perfect pictures for this week’s challenge. There is no need to guess at the theme 🙂
Thanks Colline…at first I had no idea what to post and then I saw these photos and I thought it worked. Glad you agree.
The pool looks so inviting. It makes me want to jump right in. Especially, after the hot walk I just had with the dogs.
I wish the weather would warm up here a little.
Beautiful Blues!
Thanks Patricia.
Cocktail looks deadly! 🙂 Your blue photos are great. 🙂
Thanks Myra!
I finally joined that weekly challenge as well, using my numerous pictures taken in France. did you see mine today, hopefully as whimsical as your last one. I enjoy your pictures everyday. here is my post: http://wordsandpeace.com/2012/05/15/weekly-photo-challenge-blue/
Thanks! I popped over and checked yours out and had a laugh. It is funny how those thoughts just pop into our heads. Great entry!
A pool, a cocktail and a smoking volcano, does life get any better? Great entry 🙂 Ailsa
I loved it all!
I would love to visit Guatemala someday!!! This is a very appealing blue post!!! What a view of the volcano – and a very yummy-looking cocktail!!! -oh my… it’s way to early in the morning to be liking the look of that cocktail… 😉 Hahaha!!! 😀 **
Well maybe hold on for an hour or two and then dip into this cocktail. I won’t tell anyone 🙂
Wow, great trio!
Thanks…I enjoyed them all.
Awesome shots!

Lovely blues TBM! Especially the cocktail!
Thanks Madhu!
I LOVE the first photo!!!
The reflection was soo clear
Thanks Novroz!
Great “blue” post! Beautiful vibrant colors!
Thanks Hook!
These are really wonderful.
Thanks Caroline…it was a fun place to visit and I enjoy looking at the photos and remembering the trip.
I’m a sucker for color themes.
All such beautiful blues. I love the volcano photo.
Thanks Carol.
The cocktail looks quite lethal in blue but if you are drinking it, I can join you in it. 😉
If I didn’t know that it was a friendly drink I wouldn’t have touched it. The bartenders at the place where we stayed were wonderful and I trusted them. It was pretty tasty.
How stupid of me. I have a general rule not to eat (or drink) any color that is not found in nature. What was I thinking? I have given up imbibing some delicious looking blue drinks because I never thought of sky or water. Really! How many photos have I taken of the ocean? A lake? A stream? A sky? I’m going to have to get me a whole new set of rules. And learn to be a bit more observant of life- and colors- around me. Think of all the new experiences just waiting for me now. Oh, and I loved your photos!
Thanks! And I’m excited for you and this whole new world. I hope many blue cocktails are in your future 🙂 Just not all at once.
Beautiful blues – and all so different!
Thanks…it was fun putting this post together.
The blue drink looks very worrying, more so even that smoke issuing from a volcano.
I can see why you would be hesitant…if it makes you feel better, it was quite good and I survived 🙂
Now THAT’S a drink!
anne
I enjoyed it!!
