Travel Theme: Oceans

June 8th was World Oceans Day.  Ailsa has decided to honor this event by making it the theme for this week’s travel inspiration.  When I was in Cape Town, I did a half day trip to the Cape of Good Hope.  Along the way, we had wonderful views of the Atlantic Ocean.  Here are some of the views.

I think it is safe to say that most creatures enjoyed the view.

The water looked so pure and inviting. But we were warned about sharks. A little down the road though, there were a ton of surfers.

Hah – love the ostrich or emu, or whatever …

    • TBM says:

Thanks. I think this one is an ostrich. Not sure if I’ve seen an emu in the wild. Now I can’t remember if I’ve seen one in the zoo or something either.

  15. lynnsbooks says:

Do you think the ostrich is wishing it was a fish – after all, not much point in being a (big) bird if you can’t fly! Great pics.
    Lynn 😀

Beautiful! The water is so crystal blue. Seeing an ostrich by the ocean is a new one for me though! Loved it.

    • TBM says:

I was surprised by that as well. We didn’t see many during the whole trip but then all of a sudden here was this one staring at the ocean.

The ostrich cracked me up! I have a small stuffed ostrich that my mom gave me when I was young because I was all legs growing up. This photo is beautiful and made me remember that time. Thank you.
