June 8th was World Oceans Day. Ailsa has decided to honor this event by making it the theme for this week’s travel inspiration. When I was in Cape Town, I did a half day trip to the Cape of Good Hope. Along the way, we had wonderful views of the Atlantic Ocean. Here are some of the views.

I think it is safe to say that most creatures enjoyed the view.

Awesome! So clean and fresh and you can’t really get near the water
I was amazed the by the steep cliffs. Such a beautiful and dramatic coastline.
I think he’s looking at all the birds flying around out there and wishing he could do the same :). Beautiful shots TBM!!
I didn’t think of that possibility…thanks!
No matter where, scenes of the ocean are refreshing and calming.
I agree…I grew up next to the Pacific and I miss it.
Wonderful–as always. Your photos are always so inspiring to me—there are many levels to them. And water ones always draw me in!!!
I’m the same way…if there is an ocean, lake, river, pond…puddle, I want to see it and explore.
Really lovely TBM! That little lagoon in the first picture seems very inviting 🙂
I wish we had more time to linger there.
All wonderful shots – the last one is a really amazing image – great capture! 🙂
Thank you 🙂
Thought I recognized this
It is a beautiful area…I was in awe.
Awesome!! 😀
Thanks! The place is stunning.
I would like to have that view every day 🙂
wouldn’t that be nice!
Was there last September….loved the shades of blue in the ocean. So clear and so many hues of blue and green.
Beautiful pictures!
The water looked so pure and inviting. But we were warned about sharks. A little down the road though, there were a ton of surfers.
There is a heart shape in the first one, I noticed now 🙂
I didn’t even notice it until you did. Thanks.
Cape of Storms. Beautiful as always. 🙂
Thanks Zelmare.
The Ostrich picture made me smile. Thank you for sharing 🙂
I’m glad. He made me smile as well. Have a wonderful day.
Glorious!
Thanks!
Crazy funny bird! great photos 🙂
Thanks Gilly.
Beautiful. I especially like the ostich photo.
I love seeing animals in the act of pondering something.
Hah – love the ostrich or emu, or whatever …
Thanks. I think this one is an ostrich. Not sure if I’ve seen an emu in the wild. Now I can’t remember if I’ve seen one in the zoo or something either.
Do you think the ostrich is wishing it was a fish – after all, not much point in being a (big) bird if you can’t fly! Great pics.
Lynn 😀
I would love to know what he is thinking. He looks pretty pensive.
Beautiful! The water is so crystal blue. Seeing an ostrich by the ocean is a new one for me though! Loved it.
I was surprised by that as well. We didn’t see many during the whole trip but then all of a sudden here was this one staring at the ocean.
Oi, it’s beautiful!!! How am I ever going to leave SA?? Tough times ahead!! 🙂 **
I know how you feel. I’ve moved from some really beautiful places, but I always find that the new place has its own beauty and charm. I wish you the best of luck!
Cool shots! Very powerful – the angle, that is!
Thanks Hook.
from the back Mr ostrich looks wistful
I had that feeling as well when I watched him. I would really love to know what was troubling him and I would have listened.
These are awesome pics. I wish I could say … yeah when I was in Cape Town I did so and so …. but no … I haven’t taken a vacation since 2007 just the beach…regular Pacific Ocean
I do miss the Pacific Ocean. We used to go to Laguna beach in the summer…ah some wonderful memories.
Lovely feeling. I can see myself opening a window to this view.
OH that would be awesome to see every day.
I love it, TBM, I was getting into the ocean shots and then up popped that glorious ostrich, how lovely! 🙂
Thanks…I almost forgot I had the ostrich photo. It went well with this week’s theme.
It most certainly did!
The ostrich cracked me up! I have a small stuffed ostrich that my mom gave me when I was young because I was all legs growing up. This photo is beautiful and made me remember that time. Thank you.
Thanks…I love when things remind me about happy childhood memories. I’m glad I could help 🙂
How beautiful and relaxing. The ostrich checking out the view made me chuckle – great shot!
Thanks…I enjoyed watching the ostrich and I would love to know what is going on in this scene.
