While reading a book by the pool in Honduras I heard a noise behind me. I turned around and saw this creature. He seemed really curious about me. It took a few days, but I started to get used to see different creatures without screaming. My heart would still stop and then I’d think, “Thank goodness it wasn’t a snake.” I saw a snake on my last day, but it was my last day. I was able to get over it quickly when I boarded the plane.

Now isn’t he cute
I hope he knows he’s cute.
Cute critter! i’m okay with them, as long as they don’t sneak up and surprise me. 🙂
I think I may have surprised him. I was in his territory after all 🙂
He’s cute )
I agree. He has a sweet face.
It was just as interested in you as you in it! Sweet photo
I would love to know what he was thinking. Maybe he thought I was a silly looking creature.
I like this little guy wayyyy better than a snake :).
I’ve never been a fan of snakes. I lived in one house in Colorado that was plagued with them. Once when I was in the bathroom I was washing my face and I had my eyes closed. And I felt one slither over my feet. I jumped onto the toilet and didn’t get down until my friend came over, who incidentally studied snakes and rescued them from people’s homes. She’s like Mike. She picked it up and gave it a kiss.
Ewwwww!! I don’t mind creepy crawlies if I can see them, but to feel something crawl across you before you see it is the worst! Yuck!
It grossed me out completely!
It looks like he’s saying: Hi there dude!!! 🙂
I had the same feeling!
I am not comfortable with snakes either, so I can imagine your feelings. 🙂 This little fellow looks harmless. Was he?
He was a perfect gentleman and kept me company while I read.
ow my…he is so handsome. I want one, but I guess it’s not okay taking a wild animal home.
I always say I want to take cute critters home, but I know they are happier in their habitat. But he is cute!
I often have that urge to take them home too…but then I realize, they aren’t meant to be pet.
I know my turtles also not meant to be a pet…but I bought them in petshop, they better be with me than in the petshop which often neglect them.
I understand. Your turtles have a much better life with you!
Yep, he is posing for you 🙂
He’s a star for sure!
Cute little thing. I guess it just wanted to get a closer look at you. Great photo!
I don’t mind snakes unless they are poisonous. But I don’t like spiders!
There are lots of spiders in Honduras and they have some pretty cool webs. I try to stay away from them.
He looks like he is just popping out to say hello! And maybe steal some of your sunshine!
Don’t blame him, it was beautiful out.
So cute.. thank goodness it wasn’t a snake.. how freaky.
Snakes, are beautiful creatures, as long as they aren’t anywhere near me. Or yes, freaky!
How blessed!!
🙂
