This week’s prompt is what am I thankful for. The first thing that popped into my head was I’m thankful for my loved ones and friends. They make my life much more enjoyable. The second thing that popped in my head was the gift of reading. From an early age, I fell in love with books. Stories broadened my horizon and spurred me to seek out knowledge. Through my love of reading I discovered another passion—traveling to places I’ve read about. And now reading has allowed me to meet so many wonderful bloggers all over the world. It really is a wonderful gift and I’m thankful.

About TBM
TB Markinson is an American who's recently returned to the US after a seven-year stint in the UK and Ireland. When she isn't writing, she's traveling the world, watching sports on the telly, visiting pubs in New England, or reading. Not necessarily in that order.
Her novels have hit Amazon bestseller lists for lesbian fiction and lesbian romance.
She cohosts the Lesbians Who Write Podcast (lesbianswhowrite.com) with Clare Lydon. TB also runs I Heart Lesfic (iheartlesfic.com), a place for authors and fans of lesfic to come together to celebrate lesbian fiction.
Great choice of subject!
Thanks Andrew. I liked yours!
I´m so with you on this!
Reading has opened so many doors for me.
I totally agree! Reading is the best gift ever!
I do love a lot of the same things as you! 🙂
i saw your Dorothy Parker poem and comment and had to write. I give a copy of her collected works to every young woman on my gift list and hope they read her. reading is on my thankful list. great blog!
I’m a huge Parker fan. I have her collected works right next to my desk for easy reference.
Are those your TBR stacks?
I created this pile during my move. I had to inventory every thing I owned, including all of my books, cds, dvds, forks, t shirts–it was quite the task and took way too long.
you forgot to say you were thankful for Looney and me (ha ha) I am like you – books opened up worlds to me–worlds that I want to explore
Being thankful for you two goes without saying.
awwww–thank you
Awww, thank you from me too. I feel so loved!!
Exactly what I have in mind!
I have often said that if I had to give up all material things but one, with no hesitation I would keep books!! Books are my life :). Now, about those piles of books above – we obviously have more work to do than I thought!! LOL
I couldn’t agree more! 🙂
There’s so many things to be thankful for, I love that you picked books and reading, I so love books.
Books are truly magical, aren’t they?
I love looking at other peoples’ books! If I have some of the same favorites on my shelf, I look to see who else they like and then keep an eye out for those new authors at the library. So, thanks for sharing a pic of some of your books.
I can’t imagine life without books!
Ditto. I can’t think of anything better than standing in a place that I have read about. This touched a real chord with me. And a bookstore is a marvel. There’s always a treasure just waiting for me to find there.
i agree whole-heartedly, especially since i love reading fantasy and science fiction, entering whole new worlds i am often very thankful for!
