I fully admit that I’m a nerd and I love stumbling upon tourists traps like these. Having a pint in the Sherlock Holmes pub made my day. I need to go back so I can write a proper review.

Oh my gosh, I love it! Hurry back- I would love to read that review and see more photographs from within!
I want to read the stories before I go back to really nerd it up.
You are the greatest!
ah, thanks!
Heyyyyyyy, I saw that place when I was there. I even took a picture of it!! Oh what fun we had on that trip :).
What! You didn’t go in?
LOL!! I was chaperoning minors, so it wasn’t really possible :).
Um, can’t they wait outside?
The problem is that the way teens are nowadays, they would have wanted to join me LOL!!
Oh, I SO want to go with you!!
you’re always invited
very cool
The Nerd Girl. Wasn’t that a song by Scritti Politti?
Ha…don’t know
Just showed this to my girl – I have a lot of Sherlock Holmes lovers in my family.
🙂
This area of London is so interesting.
Love it!!! Absolutely love all the nerdiness that goes with it!
I agree…
Seems so nice…. Thank you, love, nia
just a few icons!
Did they have Sherlock Holmes’ bar food? You know, food of that time frame, such as unidentified grey meat boiled beyond recognition, served with potatoes. Or bangers and beans and eggs cooked on an iron skillet, with a touch of curry, of course.
And are their really, truly deep fried pickles? I would think they would explode upon being submerged in boiling oil….
I did eat in the restaurant and had bangers, mash, and a Yorkshire pudding. No grey meat fortunately. will need to find out more about the pickles 🙂
That would be hard to pass up, it’s so inviting.
Nerdiness and beer–I’m in.

Love this! I am right with you there on the tourist traps. Your post inspired me to post a photo of the Godfather themed bar in Corleone in Sicily!
I’ll check it out!
So picturesque! I wouldn’t be able to resist this place either.
Come along next time. Of course our weather isn’t as sunny as San Diego’s
I didn’t mind the weather in London, but we were there in the summer and it rained only once or twice in two weeks. There’s so much to see and do, it makes up for the showers.
That is so cool…i guess I am a nerd as well. BTW…Chevvy’s lump is a lypoma. What a great day !
That’s what you were hoping for right?
Yep…it is just a fatty lump. I had one once. They can grow and sometimes have to be taken out if they squeeze around muscle…but otherwise they are harmless.
OH I had one on my back. When they removed it (this was when I was 18 and still wearing bikinis so i didn’t want it there) it stunk so bad. I’m so glad it all worked out. I hate these scares.
Now we just have to figure out all this heart stuff…but I am hopeful that will be okay.
I hope so. My thoughts are with you.
I love this as well. Who cares it’s a tourist trap. Sometimes we just like a bit of artifice.
Exactly. Life is too short not to enjoy it. I’ve even considered taking my Adventures of Sherlock Holmes there to read and have a pint or two–just to nerd it up more. Why not!
I would want to go there too 🙂 Look forward to the deatils when you do get return .
I’d have to go too. Tourists traps are fun.
I love this !! I want to go there too : )
ooohh…I want to know what’s inside!! Hurry visit it TBM 🙂
This is was my Mom’s Favorite pub and we make sure to visit every time we are back. However, the last time we were in London there was an AMAZING little pub (tiny) that we totally fell in love with. Very local…never had food, just drink. But we loved it.
Very cool!
Always love traveling to the capital, only downside is that time goes so fast.
Looks like the perfect spot for a pint … or two!
🙂
Gotta show this one to my hubby. He loves all things Sherlock Holmes. What a great looking place. How fun! Paulette
It’s a fun place. Hope he gets to visit someday.
