Miles has been a bit depressed this week. I think he’s finally had it with winter and the cold.
Every day this week has been cold, wet, and grey. He still goes for his walk, but he misses the sun.
This morning on our way out of the building he spied something red. He sniffed it, flashed a smile, and then went outside and took care of business. As soon as we walked in the front door he grab the treat. A company had placed foam hearts through the mail slot for Valentine’s Day. I think this is Miles’s first Valentine’s Day gift.
The heart didn’t last long, but the couple of minutes he spent tearing it apart was pure bliss. I hope your day is full of surprises! Happy Valentine’s Day!
Happy Valentine’s Day! π
Thanks Jackie. You too! I hope all is well.
on the first pic, Miles looks terrible bored and on the second, he looks so happy. Good for you, Miles π
Miles does not hide his feelings ever. I always know how he’s feeling.
Happy Valentine’s Day!! How nice to receive little red surprises π
It made his day and I was happy to see him smile. He has the winter blues
Lucky Miles!! Maybe one of his doggy friends from the park left it as a surprise for Valentine’s Day :). So, what did the Better Half do for you?
We’re planning dinner and a movie this weekend. How bout you two?
I tried to get my hubby to agree not to do anything, but when it comes to Valentine’s Day he never listens. He is quite the romantic when he wants to be :). I just went down to the front door and found a gift bag waiting for me. He didn’t want me to get mad at him so he just left it there for me to find it. Inside was Lindors chocolates, scratch lottery tickets, a funny card, and a jewellery store box. Inside that was a beautiful silver and diamond ring in the shape of a belt buckle. Apparently that signifies the closeness of the relationship between the wearer and the giver. Isn’t he a sweetheart???? I am full of smiles this morning now!!
Wow I was impressed TBH remembered to send a happy Valentine’s day email. So Mike cooks and is romantic–dude you scored!
Yes, I certainly did! (wink wink LOL)
You deserve it buddy. I think he scored as well.
Awww, thanks :). You’re so sweet! Did you go to the library?????
Gosh darnit! I forgot. I’ll go on my way to the gym. Thanks buddy!
Any time :). I will be organized for both of us LOL!! Sorry, but I couldn’t resist!
maybe I should give you access to my account so you can bug me not to be late.
Yes, and then I could give you daily, inspiring kicks in the butt by email LOL!!!
hmmm…maybe not a good idea. I hate being told what to do. I went to a certain college since my dad said I couldn’t go there. It worked out in the long run–I met the better half.
Well, they say things happen for a reason, so thank goodness you didn’t listen to your dad. Don’t let my kids hear me say that though π LOL!!
Fantastic!
Miles agrees!
Aw—so glad Miles got cheered up!!!! The present was just what he needed to cheer himself up from the dreary winter weather!!! Happy Valentine’s Day!!!
You too, Beth Ann!
Sweet Miles. I’m glad something helped get him out of his slump, if only for a little while.
the sun is trying to make an appearance today.
(Hope, hope, hope!) I’m crossing all of my fingers and toes π
We appreciate that
Miles so lovely… Blessing him. Thank you dear TBM, Happy Valentine’s Day, love, nia
Thanks Nia. You too
i’m with miles! we have pretty sunshine today, but it’s been so cloudy here lately. i’m ready for spring! i’m glad miles got a cheering present π
The sun came out some during our walk. He pranced around giddy with happiness.
Our old pitbull, Jigan, who passed away nearly a year ago, loved small stuffed toys. Well, he loved to take them apart, so it was always a short-lived relationship. One year, we had a little polar bear freebie from National geographic or such and decided to include it in an Xmas gift bag to one of the kids. I had everything wrapped up, stashed all the presents in the corner of the living room (awaiting transport to the family hugfest). Jigan was caught the next morning with the remains of the polar bear. However, the rest of the presents in the gift bag were untouched. In fact, it looked as tho he had carefully removed the top present, then the bear, and then replaced the top present! I miss that dog.
Oh how adorable. Jigan really wanted that toy. Don’t you wish you had it on film so you could see him dig through the packages and then carefully replace the one on top in hopes no one would notice. I am sorry for your loss. Thanks for sharing the wonderful story–it made me smile.
We caught him sitting pretty on the dining room table once. He looked so guilty. Here’s a link to my farm blog and the post with lots of pics of him, if you like: http://roundtablefarms.com/2012/08/02/jigan-rip/
Thanks for the link!
I just love Miles’ face – so cute! My dog received a stuffed pig today from a friend (not an actual pig, a toy, just to clarify). So happy Miles’ mood picked up π
Ah, our dogs are loved. How long did the stuffed pig last? Miles destroyed his toy in minutes.
Surprisingly it’s still intact as it’s made of special dog-chew-proof canvas (i.e. she’ll destroy by the end of the day).
Well one day, that’s good!
That’s so sweet. Unexpected little surprises are the best. Happy Valentines Day!
Awww….too sweet! Happy Valentine’s Day to Miles. And to you and your hubby as well.
Thanks Carl–I hope yours was magical.
That last photo is so adorable. Hope you get some sun soon.
It was much warmer yesterday. Miles loved his walk sans his coat.
Oh bless him, he’s so loveable. Hope you and TBH have a lovely day!
I’m glad the lovely Miles had a treat!
So cute. I can imagine how he must have loved that find.
I know I’m biased, but Miles has so much personality.
Poor fella. We’re all waiting on those warm, golden-lit days. I’m glad he received a valentine today. Holiday hugs to both of you!
Happy Valentine’s Day. π Paulette
I hope you had a wonderful day Paulette
Awwwww, how sweet! Happy Valentines day to you, TBH and Miles! Hope it was a fun one.
so lovely … we had a concert, but Miles is the star, he was so happy with that heart!!!!
The concert sounded fab!
happy to hear miles feel a little more chipper. i have a cat and his favorite are the little fur mice. every night when i go to bed they are no where to be found but in the morning there are two or three is his food bowl. i guess his night wandering he imagines himself a fearless hunter and wants me to see him the same way.
Atticus has the little mice, but I haven’t seen them since I gave them to him. I do hear him playing at night, but no clue where they are.
awww…Miles got a gift of a heart…so sweet
I LOVE the top picture, it’s so…tragic. Like live is going to end or something, and then it’s like oh red chewy object!
He is easy to please–most of the time
