Travel Photo of the Day (February 25)

Yesterday I was working on a craft project using beer labels we've collected from our travels. I noticed I didn't have any from Africa and said we have to go back. I show a lot of photos of animals from Africa, but the landscape and sunsets wowed me just as much. Photo taken in Zambia.

  1. Beautiful and peaceful photo. Are you going to show us your beer label craft? I would love to see it :).

  2. nrlymrtl says:

Is this taken at a resort with the down branches placed strategically for folks to sit? Or is it the wilds?

    • TBM says:

It wasn’t at a resort but where we congregated to do activities such as elephant rides and lion walks. From what I saw a lot of trees were down at the different places we went–maybe from the rainy season? Or the lack of water during droughts. I never thought to ask. Another reason to go back.

  3. Of course! What could be a better reason for a long trip to a foreign land?
    I love your attitude.

    • TBM says:

I can’t complete my project unless I get more beer labels. I’m so glad you understand and support my logic 🙂 And now I’m six hours closer–I’ve cut out the flight from Boston to London. Even better.

  4. pattisj says:

You need to go back for labels–too funny. Interesting landscape, quite a juxtaposition of foliage in this small space.

  5. IsobelandCat says:

“A craft project using beer labels”? Hmmmm.

  6. Beth Ann says:

Wow is right. I need to know about the beer labels craft, though!

  7. I love your dedication…more beer please!

  8. T.F.Walsh says:

    Such a gorgeous place.

  9. petit4chocolatier says:

This looks beautiful! The beer project sounds interesting too 🙂

  10. ARK says:

Remembered Alice In Wonderland after seeing this picture… Nice one TBM. Where is this place located?

  11. The Hook says:

    Very serene. Thank you.

  12. I love the photo! 🙂

  13. this photo is so very beautiful. i’ve stared at it for 10 minutes and wish it was on hanging on my wall.

  14. scrapydo says:

Southern Africa sunrises and sunsets are special. I experience some different ones here in NZ.

  15. Fergiemoto says:

That’s definitely a good excuse to go back to Africa! Great photo of the sunset!

  16. Lynn says:

I like this project. It sounds like my kind of thing. We have a habit of taking a picture with a glass of something nice usually when we’re sat overlooking a sunset of near the sea! It’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it. My most recent project is to take a picture of my feet – then see if Paul can remember where we were – mainly it’s just to annoy him because he thinks my feet are hideous and should be kept hidden! Rude!! But sort of funny…
    Lynn 😀
