Travel Photo of the Day (April 10)

I spied these characters in Amsterdam. I tried to snap a photo without being noticed. I think I failed. I didn't stick around.

I spied these characters in Amsterdam and tried to snap a photo without being noticed. I think I failed and made a hasty retreat.

About TBM

TB Markinson is an American who's recently returned to the US after a seven-year stint in the UK and Ireland. When she isn't writing, she's traveling the world, watching sports on the telly, visiting pubs in New England, or reading. Not necessarily in that order. Her novels have hit Amazon bestseller lists for lesbian fiction and lesbian romance. She cohosts the Lesbians Who Write Podcast (lesbianswhowrite.com) with Clare Lydon. TB also runs I Heart Lesfic (iheartlesfic.com), a place for authors and fans of lesfic to come together to celebrate lesbian fiction.

    Run … the look mean…

  2. I often try to take photos like these of the old boys in my village but it’s tricky!

  3. Ooooh, look out, they’re coming to get you now!! LOL

  4. Fergiemoto says:

I’m not good at being inconspicuous when taking photographs, that’s why I rarely do street photography. Maybe someday.
(I wonder if these characters had just been in one of the “coffeeshops.”)

    • TBM says:

They may have. I didn’t ask any questions 🙂 Street photography is difficult. I always want them to look natural but I have a habit of getting caught.

  5. Beth Ann says:

    Colorful characters!!

  6. lynnsbooks says:

Yep, the guy with the goatee beard has definitely made you!
    Lynn 😀

  7. Well at least I can say with some degree of certainty that I haven’t met these particular ‘characters’ yet 😉 I’m taking that as a win!

  8. I have always wanted to go to Amsterdam….Is it great? What did you like about it?

    • TBM says:

We only spent 3 days there, but from what I saw, I love it. It has a feel of its own: the canals, history, art, the freedoms, and the attitude of acceptance. I found it to be a very welcoming carefree place to visit. Not a lot of stress, except when crossing the street. Bike riders will run you over!

  9. pattisj says:

At least they didn’t chase you!

  10. Guilezilla says:

Hahaha “you think” you failed? You failed, sister! Look at that man! Not that they would do anything, would they?

  11. The Hook says:

    I would have retreated too!

  12. Novroz says:

What makes you interested with them?
