Travel Photo of the Day (May 29)

Yikes! Photo taken in Malaysia. I don't know what type it is or if it is poisonous. I didn't stick around to find out.

About TBM

TB Markinson is an American who's recently returned to the US after a seven-year stint in the UK and Ireland. When she isn't writing, she's traveling the world, watching sports on the telly, visiting pubs in New England, or reading. Not necessarily in that order. Her novels have hit Amazon bestseller lists for lesbian fiction and lesbian romance. She cohosts the Lesbians Who Write Podcast (lesbianswhowrite.com) with Clare Lydon. TB also runs I Heart Lesfic (iheartlesfic.com), a place for authors and fans of lesfic to come together to celebrate lesbian fiction.

  1. Aaaaaaah!
    What’s next, a pic of the Inland Revenue’s headquarters…?
And how did you get him to hold still? When I try stuff like that, it turns out all fuzzy.

    • TBM says:

I think he was stunned by our group of hikers. Or he was plotting how to kill me, but I don’t want to think about that.

  2. StillWalks says:

Very sensible. I would too but not as quickly as my daughters 😉

  3. Good grief, that’s enough right there to keep me reading about Malaysia instead of visiting it!

  4. Ya, I wouldn’t have either :).

  5. bocafrau says:

Yikes is right. I would have run the other way!

I find bugs interesting, but couldn’t easily find your spider on the web – not that I am any kind of spider insect. But I did find this blog devoted to Malaysian spiders – just in case you want to peruse it sometime: http://malaysianspiders.blogspot.com/

    • TBM says:

A blog devoted to spiders in Malaysia–good thing I didn’t see that before I booked the trip. thanks for the link. I have some more photos of spiders and maybe I figure out what they are. Bugs are fascinating, just as long as they aren’t near me or on me.

I think I’d be gone, too. In a hurry!

    • TBM says:

I didn’t want to run too fast. There were plenty of creepy crawlies on this hike. I tried to get photos of others and then I thought, “How many can see me and I can’t see them?” That freaked me out.

    Scary…

  9. adinparadise says:

Yikes! Not my favourite creatures at all. Is he missing a leg? 🙂

  10. wolke205 says:

Oh my… I am so scared of all kinds of spiders…

    • TBM says:

They aren’t my favorite. I still free them outside, but it takes a lot of will power not to run away screaming. Not sure I would move this guy. Might move myself.

  11. lynnsbooksl says:

    Run away!!!!
    Lynn 😀

  12. Madhu says:

This one make my hair stand on end!

  13. fgassette says:

    YIKES, IS RIGHT!

    BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!

  14. That is one scary spider. Yeesh!

  15. Novroz says:

I dont think this one has poison because I see it al lot in garden

  16. poppytump says:

There’s something about taking a close up of a spider if one finds them scary … I do too . Maybe it is a therapy of some sort Lol

  17. like snakes, i want to like them for the good they might do but just can’t. even the picture scares me

    • TBM says:

Snakes scare me as well. I used to live in Colorado and some snakes would get in my house. I really, really hated that.

  18. Fergiemoto says:

YIKES is right! Oh my goodness, that’s scary.
