Last Friday night I went on a pub tour along The Thames. More on the actual tour this Friday. Today I want to share some photos I took during the tour. It was a beautiful evening in London and the masses enjoyed the views, the low tide, and weather.
A Stunning Night in London

I miss London!
Can you put up a few pics of shitty drizzly weather? That’ll sort me out. Ta.
I’ll do my best to get some horrible shots the next time it rains.
Excellent.
Lovely and sunny here today, got a pool date at 4pm. I shall lie back and think of drizzly London…
A pool date. That sounds awesome. It’s not drizzly today, but gray and not that warm.
Sounds totally like London… *reminisces*
…*then remembers pool date*
Enjoy the sun for me.
I shall 🙂
When’s your next trip?
Well we may have double booked ourselves so the next trip is in limbo at the moment. Will let you know when I know. right now my plan is to enjoy London and the wonderful weather.
Double booked… well, being in two places at once may be the only way to complete all 192 😉
I wish it was two trips that I planned. No I complicated it even more, but I’m trying to finagle a way out of the mess.
Finagle… that’s a new word. For me. Cheers 😉
It’s a fun word! I was really confused when I moved here and everyone kept saying cheers. In the US people say cheers when having a drink. I was baffled that the English always wanted me to have a beer in my hand to toast them. Then I realized it meant thank you. But I still carry a beer just in case.
LOL. I was only using it with you because I knew you’d been initiated by now 😉
The better half uses it now. I say thank you and then feel like an idiot and mumble a cheers. That make it even more awkward.
Start learning Portuguese with me. That’ll put it all into perspective… 😉
I am hoping to go to Brazil next year, but right now I’m working on my Spanish so I can say more than, cerveza por favor
“Uma cerveja por favor” in Portuguese, so you’re almost there already 😉
LOL, I would mix those up all the time and would have to act it out.
Take a week off, come to Toledo, there’s a nice little language school. They’ll teach you Spanish.
Very tempting!
Do it! That’ll be a way of finagling yourself out of that pesky double-booking dilemma…
Not sure the better half would approve of being left in the lurch.
You’ll better take him with
That would mean no language school.
Then leave him at home. He can operate a microwave, can’t he…?
We don’t actually own one, and I don’t do the cooking 😉 No one wants me to cook, not even the dog.
We may well be in the same league there…
🙂
Great pics! Can’t wait to visit again :).
next summer will be here before you know it! I hope you get lovely weather.
Me too – no rainy days allowed :).
Don’t come during Wimbledon. It always rains during then.
When is that?
It’s on right now and it last two weeks. Usually it’s on the last week of June and the first week of July
Hmm, and I was considering the last two weeks of June LOL.
I just checked the forecast for the next 10 days and only one day of light showers is predicted. You might be fine.
That sunset’s glorious! 🙂
I was happy to get the shot. I don’t live that close to the river so I don’t get many opportunities.
That’s a great set. I enjoyed that 🙂 my favourite is the one of the group on the shore waving. Don’t really know why and I can’t be bothered thinking about it – I just like it 🙂
They were having great fun waving at the boats. I think they may have been to the pub right before 🙂
I love these walks through London. Makes me feel like I’m there.
London is a wonderful walking town and on nights like this I can’t stay inside.
For me, that was one of the best things about Europe–you can walk all over the cities. It’s just not the same in the U.S., except for maybe New York and San Francisco.
Boston is a walkable city, but you are right. Europe has many more cities that are easy to explore on foot. I love that.
How many countries have you visited so far? I’m going on a trip soon, and need some ideas!
I’ve been to 19 countries and I have lived in the US most of my life and the past year I’ve been in England. what part of the world are you heading to?
I live in the states right now, and just starting to create my list of places to go. I’m not sure of where to go first, though. I thought maybe Greece or London.
I haven’t been to Greece so I’m no help there. I love, love, love London. However, it can be pricey here. Not sure if that is a factor. Besides London, my favorite city in Europe is Barcelona. Where in the States do you live?
I’m in VA at the moment
I haven’t spent much time there, but I remember it being lovely.
It’s nice–lots of historic towns and built up cities. I’ve just been wanting to explore other parts of the world
I studied history in college and in grad school. A trip out east when I was 21 convinced me that I should move out there. Ten years later I moved to Boston and loved all the history. Now I live in London and I’m in heaven. But I know what you mean, I always have an itch to catch a plane and see something new and exciting.
where’d you go for college?
I attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins. I loved it there. Hiking bliss! You?
I went to University of SC for a while then transferred to Virginia Commonwealth University
I’ve always wanted to travel more in the south, but growing up in the west didn’t help my ambition much. I recently read the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and now I want to go to Savannah.
Georgia’s nice. The south in general is a calm way of life
I love city life, but a calm way of life sounds so good.
City life is amazing. That was one of my favorite things about Columbia, SC–it’s the city so it’s awesome in that sense. But it’s kind of a calm peaceful city life. I’m not sure how much sense that makes, but, I tried!
It does make sense. London for the most part doesn’t have that feel. So many residents and tourist. But I do love it here.
I cannot wait to visit London one day
I hope you do!
Looks like everyone was out and about…except Miles!
Miles has been going on long walks in the morning and prefers taking it easy the rest of the day. And he doesn’t like warm to hot weather. hates it in fact.
Nice pictures of evening scenes on the bank of the Thames, TBM. Thanks for sharing.
I’m glad you enjoyed, Vishy.
Hahaha I wonder how that couple feel if they knew they were being shot 😉
I was really quick about it. And I don’t think they noticed anyone.
Loved the photo journey… everything looks so natural…
Thanks bulldog.
That sunset and happy face pictures are awesome. Totally cool to have found the happy face on the beach 🙂
I thought he was pretty cute myself.
Beautiful shots!
Thanks, Elisa
Love the lonely happy face on the beach…
Me too!
I hear that along the shore at low tide one can find all sorts of interesting baubles from ages ago that wash up.
I expect to see you at Wimbledon soon! Can you believe Nadal is out already!?
I think there is a tour guide who’ll take you along the shore and who knows, maybe I’ll find a Roman relic.
Nadal and Federer. Yesterday was a horrible day for injuries. I hate seeing that. I have my favorite players and such, but I never want to see a player get hurt and withdraw from a match.
I must say I’d never heard the name Sergiy Stakhovsky until today.
I just learned that Sharipova is out too!
I’m learning some new names as well. the women’s draw is interesting so far. Curious to see who will be in the final
Ahh TBM you’ve caught London looking rather nice and relaxed and un – London in a way 🙂
Lovely walkabout with you there indeed . How many pubs I wonder … I’ll tune in friday …
I’ll feature two pubs tomorrow, but was introduced to more that I need to go back and explore.
