Does anyone know what this is? I found him in Danum Valley in Malaysia and I was too chicken to get closer. I love the horns even though they also scare me.
Goodness that is one amazing creature.
I thought he was interesting, from afar.
How cool is this critter! OMG, it’s the demon (Tim Curry) from “Legend”, slain by Tom Cruise (who was still a convincing “goodie” back then… ah, those were the days…
Just as well you didn’t get too close.
Oh my, I haven’t seen Legend, but now I need to!
What?! How can you not have watched that at least six times as a kid?! lol
Now I have to watch six times? I better buy the dang thing then. I watched Goonies a lot. That was my go to–love pirates.
No, not six times now. You’re way past it 😉
Did you just call me old?
I’m guessing you’re older than 12. And to enjoy watching that six times, that’s probably the maximum age. So yes, you’re old.
Not as old as me, though…
Are we talking mental or actual age. I may be much older. Many say I was born a grandmother. I like rocking chairs, peace and quiet, and sweater vests. Oh and quilts over my legs, even in the summer.
LOL, people have been saying the same about me ever since I can remember… I can’t wait to get to 50 and for people to stop expecting me to do stuff I’ve never ever been into. Not long to go 🙂
I want to be the age when I can say anything and people think I’m a cute old person who doesn’t know what she’s saying.
Yes, that and selective hearing! I so want it!!!!
funny, I was told last night I have that. I’m on my way!
Don’t we girls just love getting compliments 🙂
Makes a dinner date all the more enjoyable.
No idea but great photo!
So far, no one has seen him before. That’s kinda cool.
Interesting insect. Never seen it before.
I think it was a first for me. And so far, a last.
I swear I have seen this little guy on a David Attenborough series. Super cute though!
That’s a good idea. I should watch the show and see if I find out.
Sorry, too fat and tired to research tonight :). Cool bug though.
No one should work on their bday.
I love cool bugs. No idea what it is so I suggest we call it the Malaysian Long Horn.
I like the sound of that!
I said the same thing when I walked by it.
What a fantastic creature! And a fantastic photo of it 🙂
That is one interesting insect.
I wonder if it gets HBO with those things?
That would be useful!
Ahh stunning! Have you found out what it is yet?
Wow! The bull of bugs! Daunting. Ole!
I like that name!
Actually, my first thought was, “Stink bug!” Only with horns. So I asked Steven, and he thought it was a beetle, too. “Must be a leaf eater, especially since it’s on a leaf.” Like, duh. But it still looks like a bull bug to me.
I think I’ll stick with Bull Bug as well. Has character.
What an amazing creature! Nature is full of surprises.
It sure is. There are so many creatures out there and I’m always curious about the ones that haven’t been found yet.
Same here! I just wish there would soon be a better solution for palm oil and other activities that destroy important ecosystems.
I’m with you. We need to realize we can’t keep taking instead of protecting.
So beautiful and unique! Nature is so amazing and beautiful. It is wonderful that you spotted this beauty 🙂
Nature surprises me every day. there’s so much that I don’t know, but I’m willing to learn.
I have no idea BUT it is very beautiful in a scary kind of way!
I agree with you.
YIKES! That’s something that screams to me, “Danger! Stay away!”
I have no idea what it is and I have never seen one before. Great capture, though!
Yes, I didn’t have any urge to pet him.
WOW! An amazing find. The world is full of some wonderful creatures. Hope you discover what it is.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Me too. Someone out there might know.
looks like it could hurt you but it is magnificent looking
I didn’t get too close.
