I’m sorry to write about this for a second straight day, but I am still having issues commenting on blogs. On many occasions, once I hit the submit button my comment disappears. I have contacted WordPress and Akismet and hopefully it will be resolved soon. And I have been sending emails to many of you asking for your help. I apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. All of you have been so kind and I want to say thank you.
Here are some flowers as a thank you:

She cohosts the Lesbians Who Write Podcast (lesbianswhowrite.com) with Clare Lydon. TB also runs I Heart Lesfic (iheartlesfic.com), a place for authors and fans of lesfic to come together to celebrate lesbian fiction.
Could it be that it doesn’t appear until it’s approved by the blogger?
When that happens I can see that the comment has to be moderated. Now the comment just disappears and when I let the blogger know they usually confirm it’s in the spam folder. I just tried commenting on your blog and I think it went into your spam folder. Sorry.
I’ve had a few of yours go to spam box as well… I see that there are some that come through with two addresses.. wordpress will put these into spam… when there is only one email they come through as normal… I check my spam daily as it is not only happening with you but now with many… and I hate to miss a comment… I just un spam it and continue as per normal and it appears as normal… don’t worry I won’t let a comment disappear from my posts…
Thanks, bulldog and I feel for the other bloggers who are going through the same thing. it’s a pain in the butt.
They’re beautiful! A little wrinkled, but beautiful! LOL! I certainly understand glitches in the system, and is no fault of your own. Don’t worry… I will still comment :O)
Meanwhile, I have an idea; make a post to answer all of your comments… It’s a copy and paste job, but it would work… See, it was obvious to me that you’re here commenting on not being able to comment.
Thanks for your patience and I will have to think about that 🙂
You were in my spam folder. It’s weird but it happens to people occasionally. It’s bothersome.
it has happened to others who comment on my blog. I try to check my spam folder on a regular basis. However, it wasn’t until it happened to me did I realize how much of a pain it is. I comment on many blogs and it’s hard contacting everyone to let them know about the situation. I feel for anyone who goes through this.
Hello TBM. It’s not a good situation. I think you are doing a good thing in putting these posts out there. I also admire your calmness and patience (in contrast to my moan on my blog yesterday).
I have tried informing Akismet twice via their form on their site and each time my comment has disappeared without a trace. So – if WordPress can’t help us and we can’t get through to Akismet, what can we do? More and more people are being affected as a look on the Staff Answers forum shows but they are being told to do the same thing.
I’m ready to give up with WP as they don’t seem to be bothered – but on the other hand, I value the community which has been built up over a long period of time, that I don’t totally want to give it up. I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place.
I think for now I will do a post like you have done – informing followers of the problem – and I’ll see how I feel tomorrow.
Will be in touch regarding any change.
I noticed that my comment on Akismet disappeared and I’m just hoping for the best. I’m not always calm and I may have said a few bad words while sitting at my desk 😉 I hope to reach out to Akismet and WordPress again tomorrow and see if there’s any progress. I’ve noticed a few bloggers in my spam this week–more than normal.
I’m sorry you are going through this as well. It’s a pain. it really is. I’ll keep you informed and maybe if all of us work together it will be solved soon. I hope so at least. I would hate to see your blog disappear. I love your photos.
Actually, I was ready to throw in the towel until I read your blog today. You’ve given me a lift.
I agree – we should work together to see if we can get this sorted.
I’m going to make a post later explaining the problem – just like you have done.
Thanks, TBM.
I think it’s important to get the word out. I enjoy the comments on my blog and other blogs. The interaction is what makes blogging fun so I hope this is resolved soon.
Some good news – I hope! I made a comment on one of the forums about this late last night and things seem to have picked up speed. Here’s the link to the thread:

Here’s hoping!
I sent an email to Akismet. Still having issues this morning, but I’m hoping it will be resolved later today. What a mess and I see many people are upset. Hopefully it works out for everyone soon.
I suspected that it might only be UK bloggers who are affected and it appears I may be right. I’ve added a new comment to the above thread on the forums (although it might not appear straight away 😉 ).
Basically, someone has been told on ‘Staff Answers’ that there is a problem with UK blogs and that if the problem is still there after a week, to let them know.
This may not be resolved for a while.
Over a week. I guess I just don’t understand why it’s taking them so long to fix the issue. thanks for letting me know!
I’ve had several commenters end up in my spam this week too. Fortunately I do usually look at them before I empty the folder but it means there’s a delay in me replying. Unfortunately I agree with Meanderer – WordPress is great when it works but they’re really not good at dealing with problems. Their tendency is always to suggest it must be something the user is doing wrong.
Hope they sort your problem out soon! 🙂
I hope they figure it out as well. One of the aspects that is really annoying is that even though I click the box to receive follow up comments when mine goes into spam they void this so I don’t hear back. All of it is frustrating. Thanks for checking your folder!
I found one of your comments marked as spam. I changed that of course. Good luck sorting it out.
Thanks, slowly I’m contacting many of the blogs I visit.

I came here from Becky’s blog, who is also having the same problem. Not sure if you’ve done this already, but if you go here – http://akismet.com/contact/ – and choose the “I think Akismet is catching my comments by mistake” option they should be able to fix it.
The same thing happened to me a while back.
Thanks for the information. I’ve tried filling out there form three times and when I hit submit it disappears and I haven’t heard back so I’m not sure if it’s working. I’ll try again later. I appreciate you popping over and letting me know 🙂
The form isn’t working for me either. I’ve filled it in twice and my submission has disappeared both times. A message to the moderators of spam about spam is going into spam ……. Going around in circles comes to mind 🙂
I feel that way as well. I hate to keep writing about it on my blog, but I don’t know what else to do at the moment.
I’ve noticed some comments “disappearing,” too.
You mean when you leave a comment or when people comment on your blog. I hope for you sake, it’s when people comment on your blog. I don’t want you to go through this.
Technology, man….
It always beats me.
Join the club.
Now, Hook. We all know you’re a super hero! Nothing can beat you.
I wish!
Me too. I hope things are going well there, Hook.
Not too bad right now. it’s actually been a quiet week at work but you never what’s waiting around the corner…
I hope a hundred dollar tip!
Frustrating! This was happening to me a while back, but they resolved it quickly for me at the time. Hope it’s fixed soon.
So far each time I’ve reached out, nothing has happened. Not sure if they are getting my messages.
They better fix this fast because it is just not acceptable for your comments to be considered spam. I don’t know what I would do without your comments :(.
Well I can always start training pigeons to deliver my comments. There are a ton in London. Not sure how long it would take though.
Back to the old fashioned way – now wouldn’t that be fun? 🙂
I could work on my smoke signals as well.
Oooh, if that’s the case I’ll wear my brand new moccasins and I will dance while I await your smoke signals :). I went to a real pow-wow one time on Manitoulin Island, and it was awesome. We were encouraged to join in with the indians and dance to the rhythm of the drums. I got right into it!
I’m not much of a dancer so I would have had to drink some beers first. I’ve been to a couple pow-wows and they are fun to watch. Never heard of Manitoulin Island. Must look that up
Sorry to know that the problem is still there, TBM. Hope it gets resolved soon. I could see your newest comment on my blog though. It seems to be okay here. The flowers are beautiful – thanks for them 🙂
I commented again this morning on your blog and no troubles. Yippie!
Your comments are coming through fine on my blog. Sorry you’re still going through this.
P.S. Did this problem start when WP revamped the Dashboard? I’ve noticed that there’s always a “1” next to “comments” even though there’s no new comment. Maybe they need to iron out some glitches with the new design.
I think it started a week after the revamp. I know other bloggers have gone through this before and I had always hoped it wouldn’t happen to me. I hope it’s just a glitch and easy to fix. That would be nice.
Lately I did find a comment from my regular visitors from “spam department”. So You are not the only one.
I think my comment on your blog today ended up in your spam folder.
Yes. There it WAS!
Thanks for looking.
TBM, I responded to your comment on my blog before coming to this post. I hope there is a quick resolution to this spam situation. I look forward to your comments and I am sure others do too. Thank you for the beautiful bouganvilla flowers! I know I have the incorrect spelling:-)
So far the issue hasn’t been resolved. Many people are getting upset, but at least I’m hearing from WordPress now so I hope it won’t be too much longer. Thanks for your kind words.
Paper flowers is so pretty (I forgot its common name, I only remember the Indonesian name)
Hope you get it right soon…as for my blog, don’t worry, i always check my spam 🙂
Thanks for that. I commented on your blog this morning with no issue. Wish I could say the same about others, but I’m still struggling.
Going to spam doesn’t mean it’s disappear 😉
True, but not everyone checks the spam folder. I’m waiting for some bloggers to look since I can’t seem to locate their emails to let them know.
you weren’t in my spam. so you’re not getting in to spam in some case either.
That’s great news!
