Teaser Tuesday (July 16)

tteTeaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

Grab your current read

Open to a random page

Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser!

Here’s mine for the week:

The room she so seldom left was austere; had the bed been made, a visitor might have thought it permanently unoccupied. An oak bed, a walnut bureau, a bedside table–nothing else except lamps, one curtained window, and a picture of Jesus walking on the water.

~Pg 40, In Cold Blood by Truman Capote

About TBM

TB Markinson is an American who's recently returned to the US after a seven-year stint in the UK and Ireland. When she isn't writing, she's traveling the world, watching sports on the telly, visiting pubs in New England, or reading. Not necessarily in that order. Her novels have hit Amazon bestseller lists for lesbian fiction and lesbian romance. She cohosts the Lesbians Who Write Podcast (lesbianswhowrite.com) with Clare Lydon. TB also runs I Heart Lesfic (iheartlesfic.com), a place for authors and fans of lesfic to come together to celebrate lesbian fiction.

I haven’t been playing this meme in ages! I remembered doing this every week a couple of years ago…I enjoyed it, don’t know why i suddenly stopped.

    Anyway, that’s an interesting teaser.

    • TBM says:

I used to do this meme a couple of years ago and then stopped. I’m getting back into it and I really enjoy it again.

      • Novroz says:

I once thought of doing it again…then I realized,, I have already had too many to write and find it difficult to cramp it all as a 3 posts per week.

      • TBM says:

It does take time out of the schedule. And you are staying pretty busy keeping track of all the changes in Dome.

      • Novroz says:

The Dome doesn’t keep me busy, it’s the serial (I wrote two serial, one in my turtle’s blog and one in my blog – Aqeela and me, and I also want to write more Flash, movie review, etc) The dome will not be published soon tho I have found thousand differences.

  7. Annie says:

I love that description! It does so much. 🙂 I’ve never read In Cold Blood but I saw the film ‘Capote’ which was about the process of writing it… It was heavy!

  8. Great teaser! The description really captured the scene there…I’ve never read any of Capote’s works but now I’m curious to check one out. Thanks for sharing this with us 🙂

Every week I think I’m going to join in with this. And every week Tuesday comes and goes and I forget. I had a brilliant couple of lines as well! Drat. Why can’t I be more organised!!
    Lynn 😀

    • TBM says:

Well maybe it’s because you are reading so many series–that takes time, commitment, and dedication. I admire you for that.
