Still hot in London. Here are some photos I snapped during a visit to Hyde Park last Saturday.

The weather looks nicer in London than it does here in Florida!
I was in Florida once in the summer. I nearly died from the humidity. I feel for you and I don’t know how you do it.
I agree! It’s been raining all week here:-)
We could use some rain in London. The grass all over this city is so brown and crunchy.
It looks like it was a nice visit! The water would be refreshing to take a dip in on a hot day!
there is a spot where you can go swimming and I think there’s a pool, but I haven’t been there yet. Also the kids love the Princess Diana memorial that has water they can run in. I think she would love seeing all the kids there.
Looks like a grand, glorious day. Are you beckoning for dreary and rain?
I would love some rain. I’m more of a autumn and spring person. And I don’t mind winter. Summer gets a little hot for me. But this is nothing like the heat and humidity in Boston.
Enjoy it while it lasts :). I made sure I kept myself cool today by having a milkshake at lunch and a bowl of frozen yogurt tonight. Tomorrow it’s supposed to be 40C with the humidity, so I guess I will have to increase my icecream intake right? I don’t want to get overheated :).
Yes your health is at risk. More ice cream!!!!
And to think that so many people think we live in igloos all year round here in Canada LOL!! We were all walking around in our underwear last night because it was too hot to have clothes on :). Still way better than snow though. By the way, the birds say good morning!
Walking around in your underwear in an igloo! You are brave! Say hello to the birds for me and my reading chair. Sigh, I have to work today.
it’s hot and humid here too…
looks like a lovely place to relax 🙂
I love sitting by the Serpentine and the Italian Gardens on a hot day. Try and stay cool.
Gosh it’s getting so hot!
The heat is getting so unbearable.
Hyde Park is one of my favourite parks in London. 🙂
I’m not a fan of the heat, but at least there isn’t much humidity. I love Hyde Park!
I take back my comment on the other post I just found MsKatykins in todays spam
Oh no! I hope the issue doesn’t get worse.
What no pubs in Hyde Park.?? lol
Well there is a coffee/beer place that I do frequent. In the winter they host Winter Wonderland and there is a Santa’s pub. I’ve been known to go there as well.
We always stop by that eaterie by the Serpentine when we’re in London, a good place to pause when walking around the capital. The Italian Gardens are looking great after last year’s refurbishment too!
I love hanging out by the Serpentine. So relaxing any time of the year. when I first arrived in London I was so sad that the Italian Gardens were under construction. But they did a fab job. I don’t know what it looked like before, but I love it now.
It was a bit dilapidated (literally, ‘bits of stone falling off’) and there were others bits of reconstruction to do: “In 2011 The Italian Gardens underwent more significant restoration work, which included the repair of severe frost damage, clearance of silt from fountain basins and ancient pipework, and removal of build-up of green algae from the Portland stone and marble.” More details from http://www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/kensington-gardens/kensington-gardens-attractions/italian-gardens
That’s hard to imagine now. They are stunning and one of my favorite spots in London. They did a great job!
Nice pictures, TBM! The birds (ducks?) seem to be enjoying the sun too 🙂
I wanted to swim with them. But I’m not as cute or graceful.
Boy those ducks look pooped out.
Hot? In London? How about if we trade?
Today = 96 with heat index of 105. Even my sweat is sweating. 🙂
Instead of trading, why don’t you just come over here and we’ll pub hot. How’s that sound? 105 sounds miserable. Hopefully it won’t be like that in August.
The words “hot” and “London” just don’t go together! When I was there I needed a sweater most days.
I am feeling a teensy bit guilty because it was only 66 this morning. The rest of the country is sweltering.
66 sounds wonderful. You would not need a sweater at all right now. I’ve been living in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. And flip flops of course 🙂
That’s the spirit!
Well I am Californian.
Well, we’re having great weather too! Absolutely sweltering. The only problem is of course that it doesn’t really encourage you to work! Just want to go home and chill.
Lynn 😀
It’s too hot to work! We should all take the summer off, read, and have some drinks. Wouldn’t that be nice!
Nice, clear, blue skies, fluffy clouds, and relaxing by the peaceful water. TBM, where is your beer? 🙂
Dang, I’m not sure. Must order another one.
We are hot and humid too. Need rain, really need rain after last year’s drought. Typical Missouri summer. Love the shot of alfresco dining near the water. Hmm, makes me wish for 4pm wine time under the Oaks.. 🙂 TBM so nice to see you! What a beautiful smile. You are so young, I could be your Grandma!!!!
we need rain here as well. We really do. And thanks for the kind words.
