The Many Faces of Miles

Each and every day, my dog, Miles, keeps me entertained. He’s lovable, sweet, thoughtful, and so much more. Here’s a collection of his many facial expressions. I’m pretty sure I haven’t photographed all of them, but this will give you an idea that Miles is a character.

  1. Oh, how Miles makes me giggle :). I especially love the one near the top where he has the hat on. It looks like he spent a rough night at the pub with you LOL!! So, how was your weekend? We had two 4:30 am mornings with phone calls asking Daniel to come in to work early, so he ended up with 42 hours for his first week, and they absolutely love him! On Saturday night we went to a 50th birthday party, and then yesterday I spent the entire afternoon curled up on the couch reading as it was quite cool outside. Now, back to work – boo hoo :(.

    • TBM says:

Miles can go to the pub with us, but we don’t bring him. I’ve been known to forget things and have to go back the next day. Not sure what would happen if I forgot Miles. The owners would probably want to keep him.

Weekend was nice and quiet. Got some work done, read more, and took Miles on several walks. We had nothing planned and it felt wonderful. Sorry about the early morning calls. Do you think that will happen every weekend? Who turned 50?

      • That would be terrible if you forgot Miles at a pub LOL!! Good thing you leave him at home. Sounds like you had a nice relaxing weekend – those are the best kind, especially when they include reading :).

We weren’t sure what to think about the early morning calls, but I guess it’s to be expected when he works at a place that opens that early in the morning. It shouldn’t happen too often I don’t think – only when people are sick.

The birthday party was for Bryan’s girlfriend’s mom, and we had a great time. Mike and I don’t go to parties very often at all – we are more home bodies. However, it was nice to get to know more of Cayley’s family since we definitely see a future for this relationship :).

      • TBM says:

I would never live down leaving Miles at the pub. He’s still mad I once forgot red ball.

Any scoop on Cayley’s family? We all have one crazy in the family.

      • Ok, I had to stop and think for a minute. This is a comment on your blog, so they won’t see it LOL!! Anyway, she has an aunt who reminds me an awful lot of my sister – seems really nice on the outside but you can tell there is huge bitch potential. She also has another aunt who they all admit is crazy and who actually told us outright one time that she takes meds, but she wasn’t there :). All in all though, they were very welcoming, and we had a lot of fun.

      • TBM says:

Should I link this comment back to your blog 🙂 I’m not a fan of two-faced people and yet I seem to run into them all the time. Beware of sleeping dragons. I think I would like the one who admits she’s crazy. At least she is taking her meds–I hope.

      • Nooooo!!!!! LOL. I love that term “sleeping dragon” because that describes people like my sister perfectly, although she would have to be “sleeping psychotic dragon” :).

      • TBM says:

I’ve known a few sleeping dragons in my lifetime. Now I feel like watching The Hobbit.

      • Ooooh, me too 🙂

  2. vinnieh says:

So many great pictures, Miles seems to love the camera.

  3. Vishy says:

Beautiful pictures, TBM! Can’t even pick a favourite – love all of them! Miles is so adorable! Love your caption – the many faces of Miles 🙂

    • TBM says:

I remember watching a movie years ago: The Man of a Thousand Faces. I think it was about Lon Chaney, but my memory is hazy. I think Miles could have a thousand faces. He’s so expressive.

      • ilargia64 says:

You are right…Sometimes seems to be happy, others a bit tired and others too much up to his….
So you can take Miles to the pub? Inside? That is nice!!!! When we go with Sigh and Neo we have to drink outside!!!

      • TBM says:

Not all of the pubs are dog friendly, but many are. If we did take him we would probably sit outside just in case. Miles thinks everyone loves him and wants kisses and hugs. He doesn’t understand when people get miffed by his attention. So we would want to stay to the side.

      • ilargia64 says:

🙂 I f dogs think everybody loves them, may be it is because they have a Golden heart, do not think?

      • TBM says:

I agree. They are such pure animals and love with all their being.

  4. Anam Haq says:

haha hes such a poser! cute! and i love the one in whuch he is smiling!

  5. bulldog says:

You do know this dog is talking to you with all the facial expressions.?? I should know, that’s how I communicate with my wife…LOL…

  6. Mile is absolutely adorable! I bet if he’s anything like Mouse he’s got you extremely well trained with those faces…he only needs to stop and look at you in that certain way and you know it’s either time for play, sleep or time to get going! Here’s to the terriers 🙂

  7. Colline says:

Love the one of him with the hat on – he looks like an old man 🙂

    • TBM says:

He is getting older. 11 now, but still acts like a puppy. When people find out he’s 11 they argue with me and say it can’t be. He acts so young.

  8. Caroline says:

I couldn’t pick a favorite. Such a funny dog and such an expressive face.

  9. awwww, now that’s a face that loves the camera 🙂

  10. He is the most adorable thing 🙂
Was attacked by a dog today … a 2-month of pug! Teeth like needles… so cute 🙂 Will put up some pics in a couple of days.

  11. He is adorable!! I have a yorkshire terrior named Rocky Balboa (who is all of 8lbs) and I can absolutely relate to the many personalities they show 😉

    • TBM says:

I love Yorkies. There are two in the neighborhood and they are adorable. And 8lbs–now that’s just cute! Does he go by his full name?

      • They are quite the characters to say the least and Rocky is no exception! He goes by his full name when he is in trouble like all children 😉 haha.

      • TBM says:

Oh when I heard my two names I ran for the woods. And if I heard my first, middle, and last name I didn’t come home for a few days. Oddly that never helped my case.

      • Hahaha! Isn’t that so true. He tends to realize when we say it but it doesn’t mean it helps for the next time he barks his face off at a leaf floating by 😉

      • TBM says:

Miles hates the garbage truck. Two years and he still hasn’t learned that when he goes crazy with the trash truck outside he has to have a timeout in the bathroom. I can picture Rocky barking at a leaf. Autumn must be tough.

      • Hahaha oh my! They never learn! And yes hahaha.

  12. niasunset says:

He is adorable and so lovely, Blessing and Happiness to you both, I loved all photographs… Thanks and Love, nia

  13. MissFourEyes says:

Aw, he’s so cute! He sure loves the camera. My dog gives me a perpetual get-that-camera-away-from-me face.

  14. elisaruland says:

    Miles of smiles!

  15. lynnsbooks says:

I love him! I was going to do a caption for each shot – but how long have you got!! The fifth shot where’s he’s sat in his bed near the planters – ‘don’t make me come over there’!
    Lynn 😀
(Plus the final shot – looks like he’s putting his nose in the air, diss-associating with the teddy ‘How dare you! I. Do. Not. Have. A. Teddy’)

  16. fgassette says:

Miles is adorable. I think the eyes make him so.

    BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!

  17. Carole says:

Miles is so entertaining! I thought Rocky had a lot of expressions, but Miles has him beat. Hands down. 🙂

  18. samokan says:

    HIS SO CUTE!!!!!

  19. bocafrau says:

He’s so adorable. Love these pics. My fave is the one in the middle where the ball is between his front paws!

  20. Lucid Gypsy says:

Hahaha I love it, especially pensive Miles!

  21. I really like Bostons and Miles has a great smile and very expressive eyes! My favorite, 6 down and first shot. Smiling face, happy dog.. 🙂

    • TBM says:

For the most part, Miles is a really happy dog. This morning on our walk I heard a man say, “What a happy Boston.” Miles lives life to the fullest.

  22. nrlymrtl says:

How many balls does the little dude have? He seems so happy in those photos. Thanks for sharing this amusing compilation.

  23. Novroz says:

Miles is a lovely chap 🙂
I like all the photo…but one of them made him look like a rabbit 😉

  24. Fergiemoto says:

Those are adorable! He sure is an expressive dog.

  25. pattisj says:

    Aw, Miles is so photogenic!

  26. What a character! I love the faces of Miles! He sure does fall asleep often. I think Dracula Miles might be my favorite though.
I notice that Miles and his BFF, Mr. Bear, are starting to look alike. 🙂

    • TBM says:

Miles plays hard and loves his naps, which are becoming more and more frequent. He turned 11 this year.

      • Reggie is 11 also. I think. He was a stray when the shelter found him so they weren’t sure of his age. He’s got a few more gray furs around his mouth and eyes than he used to have. 🙂

      • TBM says:

Att is a stray as well and we’re pretty sure he’s 11, but not positive. He’s been living with me for over 9 years now. And yes, both my boys are getting gray hairs. But so am I.

  27. Letizia says:

Hahaha, he’s so cute! You’re just like me, taking photos of your dog all the time. My family jokes that I take more photos of our dog than I do of them, but hey, she’s just too adorable. As are all dogs, right? 🙂

    • TBM says:

Funny you say that. Last night I was thinking, “I should take more family photos.” Meaning of the humans in our family. But Miles and Att are just so cute. And I love dogs. Even when I pass one on the street I have to stop and say hi. I met an adorable puppy this morning. Not sure what he was, but so cute.

  28. Jo Bryant says:

Oh Miles…you are such a characters

  29. Love that Miles! What a character.

  30. i think you’ve captured him with this montage of Milesness.
