During our 2012 trip to Berlin we enjoyed watching this man torment other tourists. Most of the tourists didn’t get mad and laughed. Some got irate, which was even funnier. Photo taken in Berlin, Germany.

Definitely catching some of the local color!
One of my favorite things I love about travel. People watching.
Oh lord, is that a clown/mime? 2nd circle of hell.
So not your thing 🙂
Nice picture, TBM. This man looks like an interesting character 🙂
He was, but it can’t be an easy job. He never knows how people will react.
Wish more people realised .. “Humor is contagious… Laughter is infectious… Both are good for your health.”
I love to laugh. But not all people are fun 🙂 Such a shame they are missing out.
Hmm, I like the color red! He might bug me, I don’t know. Depending on my mood I might get a big kick out of him. I am sorta shy so I don’t know.. 🙂 I would laugh if he tormented CH.. 😀
I was sitting at a cafe having a beer so I found the chap amusing. You should set up CH if you happen to be in the area 🙂
Must admit, I loathe things like this. I don’t like the living statues one bit either, and every city seems full of them.
I don’t like being the “victim” but I do enjoy watching people’s responses.
I have to be in the right state of mind for something like this. I enjoy seeing them engage someone else but I am not always thrilled to be the center of attention. And the hubby—oh my—-he would give him a look that would make him run away. While he is funny and known far and wide for his Chrisisms he is really an introvert and would hate being the recipient of unwanted attention.
yeah I wouldn’t want to be the source of entertainment. I am extremely jumpy and tend to over react much to the amusement of others.
I like to be on the sidelines myself. Last summer I got pulled up on “the stage” at the Renaissance Festival and had to pretend sword fight complete with wearing a nasty looking pirate hair wig—all I was worried about was lice. 🙂 But I pulled it off and got the most tips….
I would have been worried about lice as well. I’m not big into wearing other people’s clothes and not sure I’ve ever worn a community wig. Good for you! And nicely done with the tips.
I whispered to the pirate when he gave it to me that I was worried about that and he broke character and whispered back that they spray all the wigs and clothing religiously. It was kind of funny that he totally got me and broke character to reassure me. 🙂
You mean there are nice pirates!
Is he a street performer?
Yep. Must be a hard job.
Nice photo! I’m smiling here thinking of all the fun I would have if I got pulled into his act:-)
Would you give him a hard time or go along?
Go right along with him!
You are a good sport.
What an interesting character! He does look a bit mischievous.
Oh he was!
i loved Berlin-the east more than the west but there was just something about it that touched me.
It’s a wonderful city full of history. Being a history nut I was in awe the entire time.
