And this is coming from someone who loves rain. I need a beach vacation. We’ve had loads of cold, windy, gray, rainy days. I know for those of you buried in snow will say shut up. I understand. I get it. Many people in North America have had a crappy winter. For all of you who are tired of winter, come to the beach with me. Don’t forget the sunscreen.

you are so inspiring! I hope to be able to do all the things you have done once I finish college!

Give yourself some time. It took me years to save up for my first trip. And I learned to live without things, like a car. I hope you get to travel since it’s the best education after college.
Fantastic beer and nice photos too !
Yes the beer was great. We enjoyed sitting there for a few hours soaking in the last rays of the day. This was the night before we hiked Mount Kinabalu and the beer helped me relax.
I adore the beach, and we have yet to spend any time on any of the amazing beaches here in Ecuador. Sad. Gotta remedy that!
Hugs from Ecuador,
Kathy
Let me know if you need a beach buddy 😉
Dude you know me and my Guat clan … we love heading to the beach. And those pictures are super awesome. Hope you get there soon 🙂
And you get to go to Laguna beach–that’s the beach from my childhood.
In addition to the above scenes, I love your advice and encouragement to Michelle.
Ah thanks. It takes time to reach your goals. It’s key not to get discouraged and to give up.
…I m on my way to the beach – with a cocktail, hooray 😀 😉
Excellent! See you soon 🙂
I’d love to escape all this snow and cold and go to the beach! And a virtual tour is just fine by me too! Although, I really think I could read all day under that umbrella!
Malaysia is not a place I would have ever though to visit – but it is absolutely beautiful!
I was wowed by Malaysia. We have two friends who live there. The food, the beach, the rain forest, all the animals–it’s a great place to visit.
Lovely shots.
Wait, you love . . . rain?? I like it once in a while, but can’t stand when it rains for days on end. When I lived in Virginia, the ground was always soggy in the spring–yuck.
Don’t hate me, but we’re leaving for a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean on Friday. Hope your rain ends soon!
I do love the rain, but it’s getting to be a bit too much. And the park I take Miles too is just mud now. He’s getting lots of baths. Enjoy the cruise and I hope you share lots of photos when you get back!
I need my virtual lounge chair for this virtual beach vacation of yours! 🙂
Yes, pull up a chair and enjoy the views.
Mabul Island at sunset for me please (wherever it is! 🙂 )
The rain hammereth at the window panes 😦
I know! All day yesterday we had one storm after another. Mabul is in Malaysia and it’s a wonderful place.
Nearest I got to Malaysia was Thailand (similar beaches). But we do have beaches within walking distance, although not very warm right now. Probably warmer and less wet than your part of the world though 😀
Rained today though, damp doggy walks.
We almost went to Thailand last year but then we realized how much there’s to do in Malaysia so we decided to stay longer and head to Thailand a different time so we could properly visit each country. I’ll take a slightly warm beach right now.
Poor Miles is getting so many baths since when we get home from our walks he’s covered in mud.
we are getting desperate for rain, all our grass is crunchy brown now, trees dropping their leaves … lily pond drying up 😦
It doesn’t make sense. We’ve had too much, you not enough. I wish I could bottle it and send it your way.
Me too!
These are gorgeous. I just love sunset and beach images no matter where they were taken. 🙂
I’m with you. A beach is a beach and they are stunning.
I don’t like rain, I’m sick of snow (a million more feet of it is in Thursday’s forecast) and I’m not a beach goer. I just want clear skies and 75 degree temperatures. My wants are simple.
I could live with 75 and clear skies. I won’t be picky.
More snow! I don’t believe it. You poor guys. I feel for all of you buried in snow. Hopefully you get to leave The Grind early.
Those must bring back great memories specially when you are suffering from the cold…
We love to sit around with a beer and reminisce. And we do that quite a bit.
That was a nice escape. Now I’ll watch the rain some more. We had about an inch of snow earlier, but then it turned to rain and that was the end of that!
Be careful–rain and snow can make for some horrible ice conditions, but at least the rain happened second. Might just wash it all away.
You know I’m in :). Any of those gorgeous places above would be just fine with me. We can soak up the rays on the beach while drinking fancy drinks and eating lots of fattening food. Sounds heavenly!!
Don’t forget to bring some books.
Ok, I have over 700 on my Nook – do you think that’s enough??? LOL!!
Not sure with you. You’re a speed reading demon
Hey, you’re a fast reader too :). How many have you read so far in 2014?
Dude you know once I get past three, I can keep track. Where’s my abacus?
Dude, that’s what Goodreads is for. They keep track for you :).
Very true, but I forget to add all the books. I’m getting better, but not there yet.
Getting better is good 🙂
Yeah perfection is just way too boring.
these give me hope
I’m glad. the world is depressing without hope.
yes–yes it is! hope and a little beer!
Now you’re talking!
nice…but I can’t complain…it is hot here and I spent the morning out on the harbour
that sounds lovely
Fortunately, the rain has stopped now 🙂 No more flood, lesser and lesser rain.
Great photos, by the way 🙂
I’m glad to hear it’s getting better there. Take care of yourself.
Much needed after the weather we’ve had recently! Can’t believe you love rain though…England is well suited for you then!
Growing up in California deprived me of rain. I also like snow. But I hate wind and ice.
Maybe it’s one of those things that if you’ve grown up with it you’re less inclined to like it? I only hate snow if I have to go somewhere, it’s just so pretty when you wake up and nobody has walked in it yet!
Yes! Fresh snow is so beautiful and serene. until it turns all black and gross.
Love the photos! Makes me want to fly away to a gorgeous beach somewhere. I am so tired of the snow here ~ snow hitting us all day today : /
We had more rain last night. It’s been a long winter for many of us. A beach sounds nice 🙂
Yes….I am so ready to wear my flip flops and hide all the boots!
it’s about this time of year I start eyeing my flip flops and wish I could just throw on in the mornings when I take my dog for a walk instead of putting on the books, jacket, scarf, and hat. It’s so much easier in the summer. Shorts, tee, flippies and I’m set. Oh and I don’t have to put my dog in a sweater so he likes it as well.
