I could get used to this

Instead of writing a pub review (yep I’m being lazy) I thought I’d share some photos from last night. We have a buddy who has some connections in the sporting world. Last night we attended the Tottenham Spurs versus FC Dnipro football match at White Hart Laneย in London. The match was for the Europa League Round of 32. The Spurs had to win in order to stay in the tournament. As it turned out, they did. But that wasn’t the most exciting part of the night, for me at least. You see we had box seats. This was my first time. Before the match they fed us and gave us free booze. At halftime we had tea and dessert. During the second half, more booze. Now can you see why I’m feeling lazy today. At one point last night The Better Half said, “I could get used to this.” It was a great night and thank goodness it’s Friday. I have the weekend to recover. Happy Friday!

It’s nice to let someone else do the cooking. ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope you enjoyed the game.

  4. Jo Bryant says:

Food and booze for free…oh of course you could get used to that…so could I.

  5. Once upon a time we had box seats for Rodeo Houston. I got very used to it, until husband retired. Glad you could experience life from a box seat. It is fun while it lasts.

  6. Lucid Gypsy says:

I could get used to that dessert!

  7. Letizia says:

What fun! I’ve been to a couple football games in Italy but have never had box seats. No wonder you’re a bit sleepy today, haha!

    Come On You Spurs!!

  9. How fun! That food looks really good.

  10. Oh hell no!! You had that dessert without me?!?! Sounds like a fun time, and I understand more now why you were feeling a little “off” today. It was free :).

That is definitely the way to live!!
I’ve been lucky enough, in my younger days, to have box seats at a hockey game and it’s the same. Booze and food. The food is more the wings, pizza and hot dog variety — but hey, Booze!!
Never seen live football though — well, your version of football. I have seen ours — and I think I would like yours better. Just can’t get into the football over here. But something about soccer/football has always kind of reminded me of hockey.
it might be all that free booze ๐Ÿ™‚

Now that I don’t live in the States, wings, pizza, and hot dogs sound so good since I don’t get them much. Well, I still have plenty of access to pizza, but not decent wings or hot dogs (if a hot dog can be decent). I never thought of it, but soccer and hockey are similar.

And free booze is free booze: wonderful

Oh wow…I think I can watch football with that kind of treatment ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’ll continue eating and let those 22 men chasing the ball hither and thither.

  13. I could get used that too. All the food! OMG! I could eat all day.

  14. That does sound good. much better to watch too ๐Ÿ˜›

  15. Wow! Reminds me of the time that I was given box seat tickets to the US Open to watch Federer play. The match was great, but really I was thrilled with the bottomless drinks and food. Oh, and the a/c and the private bathroom. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • TBM says:

Dude box seats and Roger. Life doesn’t get much better than that. The private bathroom is nice since the free booze was flowing.

  16. The Guat says:

Dude. That spread looks amazing, like Super Bowl worthy. No wonder you’re feeling a bit relaxed ๐Ÿ™‚ That platter would have no chance with me…it’d be gone in like 20 minutes. Hope you’re having a good weekend.

    • TBM says:

You should have been there. I was amazed by all the leftovers. I did my best, but the others were too shy I think. such a waste.

  17. I am getting hungry here just looking at those photos. What a scrumptious dessert! I am glad you had a delightful experience. ๐Ÿ™‚

  18. Great pictures…and yes, I am hungry now, thank you very much. ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. Put me down for the food too. Looks so good!
