When I was in college, at the end of each semester my mind and body would hold out until I finished my last final. Then I would come down with a nasty cold or flu. Last week I mentioned I had a few deadlines that I had to work on. Well I met them and the very next day I realized I had a cold. Pushing the body has drawbacks. I’m not sick enough to crawl into bed for a few days, however, I’m not fully functioning either. My head feels fuzzy and when I tried to think of a theme for my travel photos this week I couldn’t concentrate. So here are some random photos I selected from my media library. Scroll over for a brief description. They are very random, but they all made me smile.

Your random photos are awesome, and I understand because I’m feeling exactly the same way :(. Feel better soon!! Maybe you should go to a pub and have them make you a hot toddy.
I do enjoy a good hot toddy. Great idea! Hope you feel better soon!
Thanks 🙂
What a fun collection of photos–all very interesting and beautifully done.
Thanks Naomi!
That giraffe… such beautiful eyelashes 🙂
Aw, bloody colds! I blame horses. That’s where they came from.
Giraffes have the sweetest eyes. Horses–I’m not familiar with this cold/horse connection.
Colds are a horse disease. It jumped the species barrier when we domesticated them.
Huh, well I blame us.
Great selection today!!!! All this talk of hot toddies—-I have found a great recipe for them this winter and Chris and I have shared quite a few on these cold winter nights. I use Earl Grey and it is the perfect base for them……oh and of course….some honey bourbon. Never thought I would like them but I do. Glad you met your deadlines–take care of yourself!!!!
Honey bourbon–I might have to give that a go! Sometimes I like brandy in my tea, but haven’t tried bourbon.
My favourite has to be the one of the giraffe peaking over the bushes 🙂
Hope you feel better soon.
Thanks Colline. Have a great weekend.
Sorry you’re not feeling well! Hopefully that cold won’t last long. I’m loving the random photos, though! The various animal ones are so cute…
I’m a sucker for all animals. If one is in sight, I’m snapping a photo. I even have a vast collection of pigeon photos. I’ll spare you
“When I was in college, at the end of each semester my mind and body would hold out until I finished my last final” – yep, I know that feeling! My spring break has just started. I have a mountain of work to do and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I avoid getting sick!
I hope you get well soon and have a restful weekend.
Spring break already. Seems like the semester just started! Enjoy and I hope you manage to get some fun in and not just work. Wishing you luck. Drink lots of orange juice to keep the germs away.
I know! It’s crazy….this year is flying by.
they make me smile too–feel better soon and have a hot toddy for me
Feeling much better. Thanks!
Sorry to hear that you’re feeling under the weather. After I started riding my spin bike two and a half months ago, I came down with something that wasn’t quite a cold, but it was a horrible phlegmy turbercular-sounding cough that persisted for close to three weeks. Even though I felt close to okay, I sounded like I was on death’s door. My poor colleague, Godsend, who sits next to me, had to suffer through hearing it. Fortunately, we only swap jokes and not spit so she didn’t catch whatever it was that I had. I hope you make a full recovery soon.
Your pictures are all great, but my favorite is the giraffe. Where were you positioned to almost be at eye level? I cannot believe you’re that tall.
Oh poor Godsend. I used to sit next to a woman who cleared her throat every five minutes.
We were in a jeep that was just below the giraffe. My camera did all the work, including zoom. You aren’t allowed to get out of the jeep, but you probably guessed that 🙂
Love the photos, TB, but I’m so sorry to hear you’re not feeling well. Hope you get some rest, my friend.
Hugs from Ecuador,
Kathy
Had a wonderful and relaxing weekend so feel much better. Thanks.
Sounds like me after I finished my first year of university. I lived in a dormitory that had thousands of other boys and girls away from home for the first time — and, well – you can imagine that kinds of things that went on. It was never, ever quiet there. My first week home, I got so sick and slept for a week.
LOVE the giraffe one. they are all wonderful – but that one is just perfect.
Thanks. I love how he is popping his head up to say hi.
Ah, yes. I remember the dorms in college. That is quite the experience 😉
Your random photos made me smile too. Thanks for sharing. Feel better soon. It seems every second person I talk to is sick. I guess it’s that time of year.
Unfortunately it is the season for colds and the flu. At least it’s not summer. I hate having a cold in the summer.
Duuuuuuuuuuuuude. It sucks that your sick. But hopefully you’ll feel better after a good weekend. Loving the geysers in Iceland. That looks really cool. 🙂
The geysers were neat, a little stinky though. Thanks dude!
Nice collection! Hope you are doing well! 🙂
Thanks. I’m on the mend
I hope you’ll get well soon
Thanks!
I’m smiling too thanks!
I’m glad.
Love all the photos, but my favorite is the geysers. It brings back some fun memories of my vacation there a few years ago. Good thing you don’t have smell-o-blog. I remember a distinctly pungent sulfur odor. 😛
Hope you’re on the mend!
I’m not a fan of the smell. It took some getting used to the smell of the water there in the shower. But it’s a beautiful country.
Oh, sorry you’re sick! Hope you have lots of sunshine this weekend and feel better soon.
Love the shot of the giraffe. 🙂
We had a ton of sun and I spent most of the weekend relaxing outside. Thanks!
Your random photos certainly made me smile 🙂 My favorite is the sign from Paris.
I hope you are feeling better today.Rest. Rest. Rest.
I took your advice and rested. Feel much better!
I hope you are feeling a bit better. The giraffe took me back a while. And I love the knitter. Take care.
I enjoyed watching the knitter. She never missed a point and I don’t think she dropped a stitch. A wonderful multitasker.
They made me smile, too. I hope you’re feeling better.
Thanks Patti. I feel much better. A lot of sun this weekend helped.
Have to wonder at the knitter … and how many stitches dropped 😉
Giraffes are so comical .. love that shot .
Glad to see from the previous comment you are on the mend TBM .. Sun out and deadlines finished must be a good combination for sure .
She seemed on the ball when she was knitting. I usually have a book in case there are rain delays, but haven’t considered knitting. I have a new set of deadlines coming up. I hope the sun stays out to help me through it.
Great photos – wishing you a speedy recovery 🙂
Thanks!
Love the randomness of the photos (especially the women knitting!). I do hope you feel better soon. I just saw a report on the news that people get more colds at the end of winter. Perhaps because we are so worn down. Ugh. Cuddle up with a good book and lovely animals 🙂
Oh Miles is a good cuddler. That’s my plan this afternoon–read and cuddle. Thanks
Feel better! Your random photo of the street sign in Paris also made me smile. Thank you!
That sign made me laugh
