I’m back, sorta

The last time I posted I was on my way to Edinburgh. Well, we returned to London, and I came back with a nasty cold. Then The Better Half got it. Next I was hit with the flu. Now The Better Half is coming down with yet another cold. The last few weeks haven’t been great. At least the weather is improving and Miles and Att have been happy campers, sunning themselves every chance they get.

Our trip to Edinburgh wasn’t a complete bust. We had a fabulous time. Not only is the city breathtaking, but we discovered so many wonderful pubs. I’ll do my best to share more about the trip, but for now, here are some pictures.

I hope all of you have been well. Have a marvelous weekend folks!

Great pictures. Can´t wait to hear more. Look after yourself and hubby!

  4. Super pix, recognised most of thrm, looked a bit grey and overcast. Stay warm, lots of hot fluids etc and get well soon both of you.

  5. I want to go back there so bad! Your pictures brought back all of my wonderful memories. And you found Greyfriar’s Bobby :). He was such a dedicated puppy dog. Now, as for these sicknesses, enough is enough. You and the Better Half are not allowed to be sick any more. Take lots of vitamin C and get out in that fresh air. You’ve had more than your fair share I say!

    Welcome back 🙂

Hope the nasty cold won’t come again.

  7. Good to see you back. Sorry about the illnesses and hope you’re both on the mend soon.
Have always wanted to see Edinburgh, so this was a treat. Take care, TBM….

I’m glad you enjoyed that ‘Northern’ place! you still need to travel south west though to see the best of the UK!

  9. I’m glad you’re back. Thx for sharing those fun photos! 🙂

  10. Welcome back. It sounds like you guys have been playing ping pong with nasty bugs. I have noticed that shortly after traveling, there are times when I’m gobsmacked with a cold. Maybe you needed to quaff more scotch while you were in Scotland? Get well soon!

Welcome back!! boy – it sounds like Winter ended like an angry lion for you too. this entire house went through cold and flu too. and then a vacation… only to return with, you guessed it: colds! Oye. but this week has been much more promising with warmer weather and happier constitutions! looking forward to the pub tour! 🙂

  12. Welcome back! I hope you get better soon.
Nice pics, who’s that lovely dog?

    • TBM says:

He’s Greyfriar’s Bobby. He’s known for spending 14 years guarding the grave of his owner until he died himself on 14 January 1872.

So sorry to hear about the evil cold followed by the nefarious flu!

Are you a fan of bagpipes? I had to ask since you have a pic of a bagpiper. The first time I heard live bagpipes was at a wedding in Kathmandu. My brain had a bit of a stutter at the incongruity.

    • TBM says:

I do enjoy them, however, I don’t seek them out. This guy was standing outside the castle and I couldn’t resist and he was kind enough to let me take his photo for a small tip. When in Scotland…bagpipes in Kathmandu…that’s interesting.

Well so glad that you’re back! I didn’t even know that you had released Woman Ignored, the last time I spoke to you you were getting ready to launch. CONGRATS on it being official and all. Sorry to hear about the NyQuil-like symptoms hitting you hard. I know the feeling well. Thought about you recently as my cousin, who’s studying abroad, decided to visit London last week. She sent me pics and I thought man if I would have know I would have sent her your way to get a signed copy of your book 🙂 Anyhow hope you get back to 100% soon.

  16. Isobel says:

Sorry to hear you have been under the weather. There seem a lot of spring colds about at the moment. I hope you enjoyed a few hot toddies in Edinburgh to help deal with them.

  17. Jo Bryant says:

Sounds like you need a lot of sun and balmy weather to chase away those nasty germs. Hope the fur babies are giving you loads of hugs and kisses.

  18. Ah, the pubs of Edinburgh! Who can deny their charm? I knew you would fall in love with them. Did you have a favorite or was it too hard to pick one out there?

  19. Oh, yikes, sorry about all the illnesses lately! Those are never fun to deal with, so I can’t imagine how awful it must be to experience them back-to-back like that. Glad to hear you had such a great time at Edinburgh, though!

  20. Lovely pics. I’ve never been to Edinburgh, but from pics I’ve seen, it looks well worth a visit. 🙂 Hope you’re both well by now.
