Ireland’s Eye

Last time, I shared some photos from Howth Head. Off the coast is Ireland’s Eye, a small uninhabited island. You can take a ferry to the island, but we were pressed for time. The massive freestanding rock, called “the Stack,” is located at the northeastern corner of the island. Grey seals can be found in the area, and I’m pretty sure I spied a nose in the water, but it happened so quickly I’m not positive. Here are some photos of Ireland’s Eye and views from the harbour.

Next time I’ll share another place we visited in Howth.

It is beautiful. There was one bit, where I climbed up some, not high at all, but I’m getting older and for a moment, I thought I would topple into the water. Would make for a funny story years later.

  3. Great pics, but the sailor in me loves the picture of the harbour the best :). So many sailboats waiting to head out on an adventure!

Used to live out near Howth. Christmas 2002 my friend and I went for a walk in the crisp cold sunshine to work off our lunch! Great memories of drinks at the pub by the DART too!

Glad to hear you’re having a good time there. All your pics are look good, I especially like the pic of the rocks with water. Very cool. A fellow blogger is out in Europe checking out the sites, too, Susie Lindau, but I think she’s checking out Scotland. Maybe you’ll cross paths touring around Europe 🙂

  8. Ireland is spectacular and I really hope to cross it off my bucket list soon!
